Wow that sounds messed up... especially if you're one of the unfortunate people that essentially gave him a watch. I'm not entirely sure he's sincere/honest or just trying to save face.. I guess time will tell...

This came in the mail yesterday and it's specd nicely .. 100m WR, screw down crown and back, sapphire, Tmi/Seiko quartz movement.. AliExpress had them on sale for $30...
if you didn't know if look at their "Super Deals" section they have older ish watches for some pretty good prices... well below the usual.. like for example today they list a Pagani Design Auto submariner homage for $35... Nh35, sapphire, etc etc... I personally only pay using PayPal myself..

    Enough for now
Finally found one for a good deal, I’m actually surprised at the good quality of the bracelet, accents and movement :bananadance:

Just picked this up from a trade. Dont know much about the watch other than it looks different than most other divers. Havent decided if will hang onto it or if will be a catch and release..

Who prefers quartz to automatics or mechanicals? I definitely do. I prefer the durability, accuracy, and reliability of a nice quartz over an automatic or mechanical. I never bought into the whole notion that "the automatics & mechanicals have soul." If you like/prefer automatics or mechanicals, more power to you. I just dislike it when fans of automatics or mechanicals look down on quartz watches as somehow not as good or high quality as an automatic or mechanical. Oh well, rant off. I'm wearing one of my Momentum M50s. The M50 is a solid hunk of SS with fantastic lume, equal to or better than my Citizens, Seikos, and my one Rolex.

I like both and wear both and am wearing a quartz now

……I do like an automatic watch a bit more because it’s somewhat of a mechanical marvel to me.

I like both auto and quartz, started out really in to mechanical but have gravitated to quartz over the years. Quartz seem to be more forgiving of really hard work.

I think the "soul " comments stem from many being assembled by a human. Not all that many are touched by people now days, and, although I do love my auto's, I equally love my Quartz watches. In the end, I think that as long as you buy what YOU like, that's all that matters. Personally, in this thread I absolutely love the diversity of watches we all own! Weather it was pulled from an arcade game, or made by an individual Tibetan monk, as long as the one wearing it is happy, so am I!

And.....since it's a picture thread, I'm still rocking the Pelagos on rubber strap. Had to boil the strap in a cup of water to get it to fit right, but I guess that's a thing sometimes.

I agree as long as we can pick and choose then we are happy. Doesn't matter what it is just that you like it
