Hot Wheels

I’m curious to see how you guys are displaying these.

 

Here are a few recent finds that are up for trade. I’m looking to get all the fast and furious, back to the future Toyota truck or even the transport version and the white Tacoma.

Most of mine are in boxes in the basement waiting for that hot wheels room. I have a few display cases to put them in. These are the ones I have in the garage

 

Man that looks sweet! Did you repurpose something or make it from scratch?

 

Made from scratch.. it's not perfect but it works for the fire trucks

 

I was thinking about doing something like this too but with a peg board. Do you have an pics?

This is impressive. Do you run into dust issues or does it have a cover on the front? I was looking at something like this on Amazon and eBay but they’re a little pricy.

 

I can’t seem to find this exact one. The Tyco ones that I did find with cars and train are averaging around $50 / $60 but don’t have Corvettes either. Im going to look around a little more and ask a few friends. For now I’m going to say hang onto it.

 

It does have a cover with hinges. You can find them at a few places. I like the ones from Carney Plastics

I have that 2/5 ford bronco. Missing the rest lol I might just part with it if I can’t find the others

 

Yesterday while coming back from Cleveland I stopped at a Ollies in Oakwood managing to score a AMT 40 Ford Gasser and a 80 D50 Dodge pick up model kits for $13 each.
I was happy with those finds but was not prepared for my score this morning at our local WalMart that never has anything. The stocker just finished stocking the displays and walked away to talk to another employee. I walked up to the display and just happened to look down at the empty boxes still there and in one of them he was stashing Hot Wheels for himself or one of the Vultures. I grabbed the box and threw it into my cart and walked away. In it he had 2 of those new powder blue 55 Chevy Gassers, 2 of the new black and red 65 Comet Gassers , 2 maroon Volvo P1800 gassers and 2 black Silverados with red sides. I went back to the display after he left and scanned the racks to see if there was anymore and he had already picked it clean with what was in that box. I bet he was pissed. Good.
Tomorrow ill be at the Hartville Flea Market. Hopefully my luck will continue.

 

I'd be real interested in one of those Silverados! Unfortunately you seem to have found all the things I would trade you for one! HAHA GREAT FIND! I'm glad you got all of those!

I’ve heard about these employees getting reported as collectors to their management which makes them stop or they get fired.

I wonder what the extra cost of international shipping is.. not something I've done yet.. but I should look into it

 

Ok one of my friends that has slot cars got back to me and said he hasn’t seen this set for sale but has seen the individual cars for sale if it’s this particular car then you are looking at a much higher dollar for the set.
