Oh i was just giving you shit, i wouldnt give 2 fucks if that was my bracket ... itll just be covered by a bolt anyway lol

That failure is really odd though... is your tank magnet full and tiny pcs of steel are getting recirculated? I'm just blowing smoke outta my ass. I have zero idea where to start looking for that kinda solution.

I do and even posted my troubleshooting before someone suggested something I already tried

Not to mention other items I did such as new swirl ring, cup shield assembly from my hand torch to machine torch, etc.

One of my posts about the 250 on Mud.

Let's not turn into the Packard Club. I see a similarity happening between the junior and senior owners.
The juniors were mass-produced using new efficient manufacturing techniques and sold well in the medium price range in spite of the great depression.
The seniors were well respected by the community but unable to produce a profit.
A management change sent the company screaming back to the old ways to regain the original cache of the cars produced before the juniors saved the company.
We all know the final chapter of the story. Don't get me wrong, there is no comparison between Toyota and a tiny automaker from Detroit.

My point here is that unless you are a member of the club, or studied the different models, does anybody here know the difference?

I don't have the car next to me to audibly tell if anything is wrong with it. I just wouldn't bank on a car that's been run below the dip stick three times (that I know of) being 100% alright. One time my brother had to add almost the entire oil capacity of the engine to get it back on the dipstick. It took some growing up on his end to take responsbility

This whole operation has to happen in 1-2 weekends max. A long block is a new engine. I can drop one in for $2000. That's plenty cheap and can be done over a weekend or two. A rebuild is like a 1-2 month thing for me personally working weekends. I just can't work any faster than that from my experience opening up engines in the past. I'm sure there are members in here who would have it knocked out in 3 hours.

Trust me I'd love to tear it open and try to make this as cheap as possible. But time is very important here or the uber rides and rental car fees will make this entirely pointless.

Well tbf iirc the FJ25s didn’t have a low range transfer case, so they’re probably not as capable off road.

    Sonuva....

Working on this little diesel powerpack, got it finished and tried testing yesterday. Kept falling flat on its face. Boss was confident it was an electronic problem but my gut instinct said fuel related, it would surge (like a gas engine with a bad carb) but only at the lower rpm range.

Shit kept me up all night, called the distributor tech support this morning, they referred me to 1 of 3 authorized warranty shops. First one I called said he only just became yanmar certified and had no idea, bring it in for them to look at in a week or two. No dice, I got a customer waiting and I was positive it was something simple.

Second shop I called understood my plight and forwarded me the shop service manual. Cut out a bunch of story, finally figured out the assembled the sediment bowl gaskets incorrectly at the factory and the inlet to the injector pump was partially blocked.

Runs like a top now, even if it did cause me to loose sleep last night

Fuuuck, bet that victory felt good though!

The fact that I still had that jagged edge in my last pieces bugs the fuck out of me.

Part of me wants to bend some flat stock in the form of a U and weld some square tube in the middle to reinforce my table at the bottom between the legs as it wobbles slightly during cutting/torch movement

Not saying that will cure the issue but when you're troubleshooting something, you suddenly notice *everything*

It sounds like a viable solution though! I know exactly what you mean by that comment, that's exactly how I figured out the fuel issue. Reading the owners manual there was a drawing of the water separator and a barely noticeable line of a ring under the filter in the drawing.

Remembered not seeing anything but the filter in the bowl so I disassembled it and they put the ring on top of the filter and it was covering part of the inlet (apparently it's ment to go under the filter and will float if there's water)
