Her name was Cassie Bernall and there was a book written about her life after that event. I read it which is why I recognized her.

She was asked about her beliefs by the shooter and killed for it.

I think I was around that age when it happened.

I'm saddened as those associated events affected you at such a young age and clearly to this continuing degree today.

What is it with the FEET??

FEET are gross AF - had I not just sanded mine down, I'd take a gross ass photo and prove it..

 

Not too far off - I hate wearing shoes!!
F**ing hate it - never wore shoes much as a kid, my brother is the same way..
Now I have searing nerve pain = shoes make it worse

I even got permission to wear flip flops at the gun range - I just had to promise to not act like a b*tch when the hot casings hit my feet.. Because apparently grown men do that, alot [hence the no open toed shoes rule]

 

...and baggage carts should include passenger seating with booze!

The columbine shooting was 1999 so I was in high school and it was the first time I'd ever heard something like that happening. A bunch of kids were killed by their classmates. It was a pretty big deal when it happened and for years after. I think at the time school shootings were pretty rare, so it marked change that has really be devastating for years.

Then 9/11 was 2 years later. Still in high school. I watched the towers fall live as I sat in Latin class, then we were emergency evacuated and sent home cause they were afraid of all the targets in our state. Camp David is local and all the press took over our school when the president was taken there. I got a ride home with a friend who's dad was in the pentagon.

High school had some pretty big events for us.
