My key is stuck in my ignition. Wont click past lock. I have a 1997 4cyl tacoma. Any advice? My shifter was wobbly and wasn’t shifting into park the other day, someone said that could be the issue. Looking for some more opinions. Anything helps thanks guys

What gear does the dash say you are in, in Park?
If you disconnect the battery, will the key come out?

Is the steering locked? Does wiggling the wheel reduce tension on the key?

No I tried wiggling the wheel to help the key wiggle out but it won’t release.

It’s a base model tacoma so it doesn’t have a gear display on the dash. But I’m assuming the sensors don’t think it’s in park that’s why the key won’t release

Disconnecting the battery will kill power to the key interlock. If the key is still stuck with the battery disconnected, it’s likely a hardware problem.
