I do to the tune of 20-25K/year, and safely.

    YMMV…

Yeah, I like Giai a lot. We mapped out a route across north ga a few years ago with it. Mainly forest service road, but was really cool

Mainly use it for single track with the bikes. Haven’t found too many mistakes with it. OnX however us a hot mess.

If you really want to geek out on gps, Avenza. Used and updated by the government. We have to use it when working with the Forest Service and BLM for trail work.

Bit more of a learning curve, but highly detailed.

I was comparing the Sequoia with the Tundra EPA ratings and they are pretty similar, so I think the same will apply to the Tacoma and Land Cruiser.

I just want a good highway mpg number out of the non hybrid models.
“late” in the year, but no clue of when

Only because people won’t feather the throttle.

Stay out of the boost and watch it sip fuel (relatively speaking)

It would make sense for people who would drive like that to get a NA version of the 2.4

I'm not sure what the purpose of a turbo is if it's not creating boost. Other than its there when you need it.

Both the Tundy and Sequoia are hitting 17+ on Fuelly, so Tacoma and Land Cruiser might be close to each other (and well below 27 MPG in real world action).

I’m coming from a Cruiser that gets 11 mpg. I’ll be thrilled with 20.

That's with the 10spd transmission. I can't imagine if the Tundra used the same 8spd that the 2.4+ trucks are going to use would even see 15 mpg.

The more power you’re making the more fuel you’re burning.

Dipping into the boost to create gobs of low end torque burns fuel much like an N/A engine being revved to 3500 rpm. Just keep your foot out of the throttle when you don’t need it.

Fuelly can be deceiving because there can be guys with 35" tires and armor just trashing the entire average.

--I think I heard December, but don't quote me on that. The Tundra was on sale December 2021, I'd use that for a timeframe though.

--Possibly, but with tighter Government regulations, I feel the iForce & iForceMAX are gonna be much more mileage efficient than prior engines, the market demands it. If Toyota wants the Tacoma the stay #1, a new mindset for Tacoma must be realized. Of course, you maybe very correct with 20 MPG.

--I remember when Ford released the 3.5 EcoBoost, I was talking to someone who had an F150 XLT SuperCrew with the 6.5' Bed for work. He had a pissy attitude about it and said was EcoBoost thing was Bullshit. I always had hard believing why he hated it so. I've also heard people say its "Eco" or "Boost" not both. No Shit Sherlock, every engine is that way. Same for electric vehicles, or hybirds & plug-in hybrids. Heavy on the juice, the more you use.
You get the 5.0 Coyote, you can have 360 HP or 21 MPG (in 2011 spec). Not both at the same time.
You get the 3.5 EcoBoost, you get 365 HP or 22 MPG (in 2011 spec). Not both at the same time.

When I started driving, I beat the shit of my parent's 2006 corolla daily, guess what the MPG was? 27 MPG! That's pretty shitty for a small car. Why? I was flogging it! When I drove gently, 33-35! (short 6 miles highway and rural/small city traffic)
You can have 126 HP or 41 MPG, not both at the same time.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSJGTxmAenk
At almost 30 minutes long, this videos describes the EPA's MPG cycles and, basically, what terribly outdated cycles they are. No this video it mainly about EVs, but still applies to ICE vehicles as well. Any of y'all do 48MPH on the interstate?

-- Thank you, I have found my people. For years I debated where to join or not, I'm glad I finally did!

    Meanwhile in Fordland:
    https://www.thedrive.com/news/2023-...he-bed-step-so-the-aftermarket-is-deleting-it

I cannot believe that folks don't like the integrated bedstep. This plastic insert will discolor and look worse than the bedstep.

And, If you want the bedstep on the 2024 Ranger you gotta get at least an XLT & pay $215 for it. Cheaper that $300 Toyota will sell ya though. One thing GM got right is the bed standard bedsteps.
