Well at least I can say I know who ABF Freight is. I've never heard of NSD and my internet searches didn't inspire great confidence. The notice I got for the RT model didn't list a shipper at all.

There were 75 pages of complaints going back 3 years. :pout:

It too soon to yell, but I'm trying to adjust my expectations now to control my anger and disappointment later...

@Delta09 @KRAMERICA have either of you done anymore research on which one is the better Tiller? Thinking about opening up the RTG first to see how I like it. Being able to move it without the tines moving seems a lot better.

I looked at all the videos YouTube had for both models. Based on those videos and the advice I got on here, I decided I’m gonna keep the RTG model. For some unknown reason, HD has a higher retail price on the RT model, but I think the RTG model is the better of the two. I still haven’t decided if I’m just going to return the RT model to HD or hang onto it for a while and sell it when the market for such things is better. I suppose I’m leaning towards keeping it for a while, but :notsure:

I just ordered the one without selectable gears. The other one was sold out, so I had to go with the other one. Well, that is if it ever decides to arrive, which I'm beginning to doubt.

Going to assemble mine tomorrow. Need to go buy a cutoff blade for my grinder to get the metal cage off.

I think it's possible to get the tiller without cutting the cage. This couple did a video on how to get it out. https://youtu.be/0eELz06E8ao

Didn’t even think about using the cage for something. Better than cutting it up.

Feels like cheating to buy a new motor, but after having success with the OEM B&S initially, it decided to start being a little B and refuse to start reliably or before exhaustion kicked in from pulling it a million times. Once started, I do not know what a 10HP B&S revs to ungoverned, but mine raced so fast I thought it was going to pop. Never ran after that, so new motor it is. Just tired of futzing with it honestly.

Original plan was to use the 10 HP motor from my grandmas old genny, but after shoulder surgery a couple of years back, I find myself to be a man of leisure more now than before, so electric start it is. Genny has a PS B&S.

Would have rather spent the money on new knives or hammers, but I guess it is what it is. I really want this flail to work out for the long haul, so maybe a new motor isn't the end of the world. Also increased HP by 30%, so insert Tim Allen Tool Time grunt here.

I might still end up cutting it, but it will certainly be used for something.

Got it out of the metal cage without cutting it. Sliced the sheathing of the clutch cable on the metal cage :annoyed: I will just put some electrical tape on it to seal it back up. The instructions were useless, but wasn’t hard putting it together. Came with motor oil but I have to go buy some gear oil before I use it.

I do have a question for everybody. One of the tires looks like it’s about to pop off the rim. Anything I can do to get it back to normal? Tried deflating it and pushing it on while inflating with no luck. It holds air fine :notsure: here is a picture of the tire in question and the other tire that looks fine.

Have you tried to deflate the tire enough that you could rotate the tire on the rim?
Try to see if the deformity moves with the tire or remains with the rim.

Not enough to move the tire on the rim, but if you look closely it’s not just the deformity it’s the whole bead all the way around that is not tight on the rim.
