Hi everyone, I have had an issue with my 2001 Tacoma. I originally had a lean code with some misfiring and loss of power. Changed my fuel filter and it seemed to go away. A few weeks later it started acting up again. Cleaned my MAF sensor and it didn't change. Hooked up a scanner and MAF number was all over the place. Found a vacuum hose off going from canister to air cleaner. Then I was getting PO300 random multiple misfiring. And was still acting really stupid. Unplugged the MAF and started it up. Then I got 5 codes. MAF code multiple misfiring and a few others. My MAF was really high 8 gr/sec and jumping up to the 30's. so I replaced it with a new one. It made no difference. Scratching my head and looking for problem. Got to looking around on line and found a thread about resting the Control module. Disconnect the negative battery terminal turn ignition on and head lights to drain the capacitors on module. Turn everything back off and reconnect battery terminal. This resets it and clears all errors. Dammit it worked and I wanted to share with everyone in hopes of helping someone. Thanks

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Why did you not clear the codes with your scanner?

Looking forward to how soon your problems return.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Funny thing I did clear codes 2x and it made no difference. I have no idea what happened and I am expecting something to show up but not sure when. I will update post at a later time. I hope everyone has a great day!
