I upgraded my tires before the run up to Alaska and the North Slope Haul Road. During the trip I ran the PSI at 30 in the front and 32 in the rear on "good" roads, on the Haul Road itself (a very not good road) everything was at 20 psi.

Before it is asked the tire size is 265/70 in 16 inch wheels. Stock snowflakes

The question is what is a reasonable PSI to run these at since this is my daily driver? I don't often haul stuff and rarely pull a trailer. Should I go with the Toyota recommended pressures of 24 in the front and 27 in the rear or since these are not passenger car tires those values no longer apply?

This page works wonders. I'd probably go 30 front, 30 rear, and 35 rear when loaded.

What is the load rating on the BFGs?

I run my KO2's 285/78/17 "E" load rated at 25psi truck on road. They have been wearing evenly. If this size was available in a "C" load rating I would run those but they are not. If I was running "C" I would most likely be around 28psi-32psi max. My truck in daily driving config. with myself, 1/2 a tank, the spare (about 90lbs) and maybe 50lbs of gear that includes a bed box is 4900lbs.

It really gets down to what is most important, ride quality or mileage, both fuel and tire wear.

If ride comfort is a consideration, lower psi is the route to go. The actual amount will depend on your vehicle weight too. A stock, empty 1st gen Tacoma is really too light for an e-rated tire IMO.

@Digiratus These were purchased for the run up to Alaska and the Haul Road. For the trip I had 2 people, topper, platform in the bed and a full complement of camping equipment with water! I never weighed it fully loaded but I know that "empty" (topper, platform, 2 people and 1/2 tank of gas it weighed in at 4280) At the time I made the purchase I wasn't thinking about weight, I was more concerned about road conditions. These tires probably are overkill for my typical use.

I'm running BFG KO2 in 31X10.5X15 in load range C at 25psi front and 24psi rear measured when hot.

Verified with chalk test when first installed. After 20k miles, the wear is even across the face.

    4X4 Double cab with the 5VZ 3.4L

    YMMV

I run my KO2's (265/75r16, load range E) at 29/27 psi (front/rear), verified by the chalk test, with an empty truck (no armor or other significant extra weight to speak of).

Tire shops always like to inflate them to 32-33 psi after rotations, and the truck feels more comfortable at 29/27
