Hey all, first post! Been lurking for a while.

I upgrading to 5100 and realized they were about 1-2mm too wide for my lower control arm mount!

I was wondering if this was an issue with my lower control arm mounting point being bent or if there is a different in the mount between different years within the mode range?

I was going to try and shave it down or get a pry bar + hammer to fit it if needed.

    Thanks!

Is the inner sleeve sticking out the same amount on the other side?

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
If the mounting tabs are not deformed they I would like to introduce you to my friend; his name is flap disc.seems like the sleeve it’s just a tad longer than usual.

Those mounting tabs have a tendency to bend inward when the lower shock bolt is torqued down. Simply bend them back out with an adjustable wrench and the shock should fit just fine. As you torque down the bolt, they’ll bend back into place.

When I installed my new shocks on the LCA. We ran into the exact same issue.

Basically we rammed a hammer to bent it back “straight” to accept the new shock. Oh and a few mallet blows to ram it home.
When we torqued it back into spec. The mounting tab bent back into place.

I would avoid modifying your new shocks. Forcing the LCA to accept is an easier bet.
