Sorta hate the new gas law

Like I know to pump gas, but thats the problem. Just filled up for the first time since it went in to affect and good fucking lord i got ambushed. Had to help the whole station it felt like. PLEASE LEARN HOW TO DO IT

(EDIT) Apparently the non OR peeps need context. Before the 4th of August we couldnt pump our own gas at non commercial stations.

 

I always hated driving through and waiting for something so minor and simple to be done for me so I feel your pain but in reverse.

 

I think I saw some guy from Indiana on YouTube showing people how to fill up. YouTube’s saved my butt so many times.

I thought the gas stations still had to have someone to help out?

Last time I was filling up, someone was there asking if I wanted them to pump the gas or not. Almost everyone did it themselves, tho.

Oregon has laws where the attendant fills up your car. You are not allowed to self service. I think that’s what we’re talking about here. Sounds like the law has been lifted? Luckily YouTube always comes to the rescue.

 

Yep, New Jersey is the last state.

 

In Oregon you couldn't pump your own gas, you had to let and attendant pump your gas.

Funny too some 8 years back I went through Oregon and stopped somewhere for gas.

CA plates mind you so you thought they would've given me a heads up. As I opened my door a young guy in his 20s came around the back of my car, coming up to me (in normal street clothes, not dirty at all) so I instantly went into fight-mode telling him off. Went along the lines of get away from my car and get away from us or I'll have to make him go away.

Next day I needed gas again and same thing except; it was a female and she had a shirt with name tag of the gas station. Explained to me the whole "can't pump your own gas law" only to remember my wanting to beat the shit out of someone the day before

I don’t get how people are confused when this is a Forum for Tacoma’s that are in Oregon.
If you are in Oregon and don’t already know the gas situation, then you must not drive your Tacoma very much.

 

I literally took me like 2 seconds when I went out of state while driving for the first time. Since then my job has me filling a refer truck with diesel at the CFN's. Im pretty much a pro now to most Oregonians.

I mean like one of the older ladies there was at least showing some initiative in pumping it herself. Just had to explain to her that if she wanted to just fill to set the thing to $100 and it would only charge her what it took to actually fill up. I had like several people talking to me at once. Probably shouldve walked in to the mart and demanded a pay check before i left

 

I've had few jobs involving pumping gas, worked at one place fuel trucks and tractors on the road tractors, that was all I did. I also worked at a tractor and equipment dealership delivering new merchandise and transporting shop jobs from the customer to service, and back. Any way I would also take tanks from the shop to the gas station and fill them with gas or diesel. Both were pretty good jobs.

 

I remember reading about this a while back. Dumbest law. I'm surprised it actually changed though.

 

Its like the perfect timing. Theres a wild fire near by to its all smokey, people are freaking out about the gas, pretty much the apocalypse out here.
