Honestly I think I'm due for pads too. Going to replace those after I get around to the seals.

 

Know how other forums have destination rides? We should have it too. Like the first person goes somewhere and snaps a photo with a water tower and the bike, then decides on the next challenge.

doesnt have to be a watertower either. Could be an ice cream cone. I also have a feeling that @BkerChuck might win

ooo color me intrigued! Might be hard given the vastness of the country but maybe like a west coast, east coast, central north, central south thing (4 "destination" rides going). But I feel as though the person calling the destination has to be X miles away from said destination to give others a chance?

 

It doesn’t have to be a specific destination but rather something you could likely find in most of the country. Something like “take a picture at an airplane static display” or “take a picture at a classic 50s style diner”, etc.

 

We could have a rule that the person calling next challenge isn't eligible to win the one they name. Have to sit out a round until the next winner makes a call.

 

Do we have enough active people to have 4 going at the same time?

i didnt mean ride to X place. But in general like "take a picture with a boat" something that anyone can do. And can even make it fun like a toy boat or something. Motivate people to go ride

 

I’m so intrigued. Why do they have a 15 year old 20 mile bike? Seems weirdly cheap for it, too. They bought it with 18 miles, so like, that’s two owners that never rode it? So bizarre. I wonder how bad seals and stuff are dry rotted out on it, poor bike.

 

One of the FJR forums I'm on and ADVRider.com both have photo tag games on them. Rules on both are similar. Rider that starts takes a photo of something, say a water tower, with both their object and bike in the photo. Next rider must get a similar photo showing a water tower and their bike in it and posts it. They can then either post the next "drop" at the same time or within 24-48 hours depending upon the rules that have been agreed upon by the group. Once a rider has posted a new "tag" they must wait until 2 tags pass before they are eligible again to prevent the game from becoming a 2 player affair unless more than a week or 2 weeks go by without a new tag then they become eligible in the interest of moving the game forward. Players must use new photos, no pics from your archives. If there is sufficient interest I can copy and paste the rules from the other forums and we can go from there? One issue I have seen is that you must make the tag something that is likely to be attainable in all parts of the country. Example, player in FL or CA posts a palm tree. I'm not going to find many of those in PA. You must indicate what the item is you want, you can call out a tree but you can't make it so specific as to eliminate parts of the country, palm tree like I mentioned.

I'm hoping we get a few more folks chiming in and expressing interest. I have a bunch going on this week and need to swap tires this weekend before I start this. I'll likely just copy and paste the tag rules from one of the other forums I'm on and tweak them a little. I'm open to any comments, suggestions, etc. that people want to offer.
