So I finally got my 2015 dbl set up way I wanted again like my previous 2013 was w OME 3 inch heavy duty lift kit, med duty installed rear leafs installed by 4 wheel parts by mistake and had them correct to hd leafs so topper didn't sag 1 inch and pulled a 5k bass boat, heavy hunting load etc, st maxx 255/85r16 studded so i can run chains, cheap step bars, brute force plate front and hc rear linex'd, yeah I know powder coat but my last powder coat was whitish and crappy after few months so went linex prem, for jeep trail hunting, no rock crawling and all the extra great drivers banging my shit. Then one week after installing the rear got reared at stop light by a new F250 HD diesel that knocked crap outta me and into a jeep Cherokee and 3 cats front of jeep. It hurt because steel bumpers did their job or would trashed the front and rear with stock. If you see the drunk drivers f250 and the white Cherokee, then my bent bff rear you'd think just a small hit. I've been in 5 2nd gens sine 2004 and drove away with some damage and a hurt back, but likely would have bent all of front bumper, hood, quarters and rear bed and side would have folded up. If you see the f250 tow point also bent. Some damage to front hood is loose, grille off center, alignment hair out, rear topper shifted 1 inch, tailgate hard to close and gaps etc but short story steel transfers shock to occupants more but I can drive it and will make hunting season next month. He was drunk and arrested. 5 total cars front of him me first. Guessing he was going 20-40 mph to touch 5 stopped vehicles. Each bumper was appx $1600 front & 1800 rear after linex and I did installs. In case you wondered how they work in accidents. Pics are in order f250 hd, then jeep I hit, the jeep into 3 other cars my rear & front bumper after. Unknown if frame bent, just happened 8/14. Then 2 days later installed my rci steel engine and aluminum trans & xfer case skid plates. In case I get hit by a car bomb lol. Yes it was a violent hit but beats an unusable truck and bumpers did great. Maybe rear frame would still be bent with stock rear, but I guarantee stock front 05 thru 15 front bumpers are a joke

Looks like those bumpers saved your truck from a lot more damage.

Im meticulous on alignment and luckily is the only mech thing I noticed outta wack. I can't explain how well the linex d bumpers salvaged my truck from a very hard hit. Speed times weight to hit 5 safely stopped cars and my truck still looks and drives pretty good. Im.kinda surprised how low down the damage looks on the f250, my bumper is pretty high. There's been a large uptick in bad drivers and drunk drivers since covid, lack of parts to fix etc and the off road gains, yes they are heavy, but 2nd gen front bumpers are useless and that's where the damage is gonna be most

These are pics after the wreck, not repaired. I have the stock grey front and chrome rear w/hitch for sale and hopefully when insur covers and get a new BFF rear same one built this one will be for sale. The front BFF I expect keep. The rear BFF is bent but I loosened it this weekend and tried to relieve the integrated hitch pushing on my spare 255/85/16 but no joy. Think it would still be a good used (non perfect 2k new bumper) cheap for someone later. Will post back if that happens

He was probably on the brakes and the front end just dipped under the high clearance bumper.

Are those pics from after the accident?

Yes my last post, 2 pics are after the accident. I'm guessing wasn't a lot of braking in a 45 mph just coming into a 35 mph zone and no brake marks. Like I said 5 cars daisy chained in front of him and I was 8-10 ft tween me and white Cherokee. It rocked me good and took few sec to find brake pedal after instantaneous rear then front impacts I'm guessing frame is tweeked bu will be a while to find out

So after 2 collision and appraiser looked, it has slight frame damage. After alignment still slight pull and rear wheel alignment is different than #'s back in may pre accident. I'm glad I had them or my front would been trashed and still maybe would have bent the frame with such a big impact on the stock rear bumper. Waiting to see what the guys insurance is gonna do. Insurance will likely try some bs of "well those custom bumpers may have caused more damage than stock or not cover what they cost. I told him these bumpers prevented a folded, cracked bed and sides and for sure total front end major repairs to front grille, hood, quarters, radiator etc so should be a wash. 2005 thru 2015 fronts are the worst of any truck for protection. At least 3rd gens front put some foam filled little squares and the alum crash bar more forward. I think the $3k BFF bumpers prevented double that in damage IMO and I can still drive it where I'd have pieces hanging all over stock. I can't make you appreciate how hard a hit was for 5 cars to get hit and i was launched like a high speed washing machine for few seconds, but impressed by the bumpers. Grille guards/brush guards are good only for tiny hits and coyotes, I know, hit a large coyote at 45 in other 2nd gen and $350 brush guard broke center bar and barely worked. Unless it's a 100 pd or more grille guard those are not great. BFF bumpers or similar are the shit. Worth every penny and linex is great unless your planning on rocks damage crawling, then not worth it.

Can't think of a worse vehicle for a drunk to be driving around in. Glad he got arrested.
