The update we were provided this afternoon is incorporation of the new latches into production caps targeted for November/December and as a standalone accessory, January.

Thanks for keeping us updated. You were fantastic with communication with my RSI order and now.

Still bummed they don't have the new ones ready yet. It's been a long time.

A couple of 2x4 blocks and a c-clamp will fix that.

Looking into these type of shells over fiberglass just for the heck of it. Concerned with air circulation for dog and myself when back their during the daytime and warm nights. Do you guys recommend these? Need ventilation and possibly a built in fan. Trying to figure out an air conditioning option to run for about an hour a day but there's not many options it seems.

We always recommend the Evo Sport model for dogs. With the dual sliding windows on the side, it allows for ample air. Picture attached from another TW member with dogs.

Anyone know the main differences between a 2nd and 3rd Gen models?

Is it just the rear hatch seal or will one meant for a 2nd Gen be a major headache trying to fit on a 3rd gen?

Quick question. Am I the ONLY person who owns an RSI Platform Rack on my SmartCap? I literally can't find any info on my rack outside of the RSI website which has surprisingly little. Just trying to check compatibility with other racks so I can mount an awning with quick releases and other accessories. Would also just love to see how other people have them set up, if those people exist.

Lots of differences between the 2nd and 3rd gen caps.

    All glass side doors
3rd brake light in the rear door
    Different bed clamps
    Bed light window/port
    Different size/functioning side windows

And some other points I forgot...

I was referring to 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas. Is this what you were also referring?

Oh! No, sorry. There are 3 generations of the RSI cap... I was stating the differences between the 2nd and 3rd gen RSI models.

I've been waiting on the long bed version. The order page has had it listed as "Coming Soon" for years.

So there isn't much info out about it. Nothing mentioned beyond the initial announcement regarding the long beds from what I've gathered. The two videos from RSI showcasing the thing are also a couple years old.
Maybe they are making some changes?
Most of the information coming out online is from the two distributers in this thread who are in contact with RSI.Screenshot 2023-08-09 115334.png

I posted about this and my experience a while back somewhere on here. I’ll see if I can find the thread. I didn’t go with rsi, I opted for front runner instead.

    Here are some old photos.IMG_0125.jpgIMG_0187.jpg

So how does this company stay in business when they can't consistently push a product out the doors for weeks/months/years? Is it a NA issue and overseas sells are good?

They all work that way, that's how.
Manufacturing and distributing taking forever, it's not a new thing.

I've finally found a used 6' model for sale local to me. Are there any key things I should look for when inspecting before purchase? The main differences between 2nd gen and 3rd gen were listed above, but I was curious about the positive pressure vent. Has that been around all along?
