So something like "take a pic next to a school, PD, your favorite tree, a river/stream, livestock, etc." would be impossible? Are you an AmeriCAN or an AmeriCAN'T? o_O :boink:

We're all going to have to keep stuff like this in mind when we play. I've seen a tag on one of the bike forums where someone in a more rural area posted a pic of their bike with a line of mailboxes along a country road. To make it as fair as possible they asked for a row of "5 or more". I'm within about 15-20 minutes of 2 reasonably decent size cities including my state capitol but also have some unpaved roads less than 10 minutes from my house so a pretty varied topography. It took me several trips out to find a string of mailboxes that met the criteria. We don't want to make any tag unobtainable. Try to think of interesting stuff that shows off you particular locale, an odd building, a historical marker, your dream house, that sort of stuff. For those with dual sports or dirt bikes you'll have to consider that not everyone might be off road friendly. I've had my FJR some places I've regretted and won't revisit but I'll try if I need to.

I’ve participated in one similar to what you speak. The difference was, the person would post a picture with their bike and something in the background (boat, plane, train, stream, certain kind of car and so on). The next person had to post the same kinda pic, then had up to 24 hours to post the next find, but most didt it with in a few hours.

It was cool to do but moved very fast and i mean literally minutes (sometimes) between the last person’s find/goal and the next one to get. Was fun but at the same got a little crazy if you were playing and the goal had already changed 3 times since you started out on your ride.

Now, going to some things that could be regionally or just plain unobtainable to others, say an entrance to Yosemite National park, could be changed to say any sign to a national park by the next poster, and be called good. The options/rules are endless.

    edit: My thoughts only…

my only issue would be peeps with multiple bikes.. anyone can go online and find a picture of a bike next to something and post it up. I’m not trying to be a dick at all, but what ever bike you start the game with, you have to use during the game as you participate.

So if someone changes bikes yearly, would not be able to participate? I like gatekeeping in general, but with so few riders on a truck forum, we should take what we can get. Plus if someone wants to ride 3 different bikes to the challenge, then more power to them. (I used to ride my FZ09 and then swap to my Z125 in the same day. Or vice versa, which was more scary because of the different throttles)

What about a date card? Theres no prize, so why "cheat" and google a picture?

Im not saying regional things. Something that can be seen locally, or within a couple hours ride. Might be harder for @Calamity_taco , but doable possibly.

For example, challenge is to take a picture near some sort of train. If you don't have a train nearby, then dont get in on that part of the challenge?

Obviously this isnt current because I haven't had this bike in 10 years.. but heres an example:

that i could see as more doable where if you just cant you just say you cant. including if weather is bad obviously dont ride in bad weather lol

I’m with yea on the multiple bike thing. Maybe a, I changed bikes caption and keep it going. Works for me too.

Hell I’m in not matter what. I haven’t ridden in two months as work has beat the hell outta me and it’s been hot as all get out when I could ride. This game might make me get out there.

    lets make this happen!

AHHH OK. I see what you all mean by destination ride. I like it, accessible to everyone regardless of location.

Id say start another thread so we can keep this about general moto talk though. Im in, it would get me out on my bike more thats for sure.

That's how the TW photography challenge threads works. You have a week to take a pic of the stated "theme" with the one picking the theme being the non-participating judge. The winner is whoever the judge picks, and that person picks the theme the following week.

The themes are "as you interpret them" so its open for some creative intent. As an example, "Water" as a theme might get a photo of a scenic lake as well as a dirtbike in a water fountain.

Agreed multiple bikes should be allowed... having a few ground rules is good but shouldn't be overly formal in my opinion. The main point is to have fun and get out and ride/explore

I like this idea so you don’t waste your time on a already taken challenge and allows more people to participate while at the same slowing down the challenges

Damn, this is like 10 miles from my house. I might be interested if it wouldn't be basically redundant to the FZ-07.

I'm still on the lookout for a deal on a DRZ-400 so I can start dipping my toes into exploring up the dirt roads in the hills though.
