gonna be down in the San Luis valley this weekend. Hopefully get some clear skies.

 

Will most of it will be early Sunday AM? Was thinking about going out Sunday mid morning and stay overnight into Monday but not sure if I'll miss it all by then.

 

The Perseid meteor shower peaks Aug 12 and 13 this year but it’s visible for quite awhile.

If it’s a clear night you should have great views of it.

 

Powers out over by Eaglecrest High, off Quincy. Lots of lightning. It went out then back on then out.

Nope. Cloudy both nights.

Go figure last night as I was driving family back to the airport there was an epic one that shot across the sky.

 

Saw two on Sunday morning when I took the dogs outside around 530

 

A bit before 9pm? I might have seen the same one. It was epic enough for me to go through the entire thought stream:

What's that? Funny looking plane.
Oh, it's too fast for a plane.
Meteor! Hey you see that?
(other guy in the car) woah, that was huge.

It must have been visible for 2-3 seconds.
