    i did. it seemed like you were still trying to figure it out, but suspecting slippage in the couplers.

    All couplers tight.

    Jaggedness being inconsistent is what really lead me to think it is a coupler issue cause 1. It's common and 2. Everything else has already been troubleshooted

    I may cut some stuff today, maybe not, but going to jog my stuff a lot today and see if the marks on the lead screw change vs those on the coupler just to confirm it for sure.

    Not a computer issue as you mentioned though because test pieces (with a file I've used before) experienced the same issue both on 16 gauge and 1/4". I made no changes to the PC or control box when I successfully cut out the sign and thick brackets, which was only about half hour after the first messed up sign.

    So not to say you're wrong but I may have to replace them altogether cause yes they might be tight, but they allow slippage *in general* maybe.

    no worries. i tend to specialize in coming at problems from an entirely different direction. sometimes it is an oddball situation, sometimes it's the same problem everyone else has already solved.

    I'm the type that has the patience to test each variable change, without changing more than one variable at a time

    And as described, you can see I've messed with every part I can, with the exception of things that had no changes made to them IE table placement, etc

    @Wsidr1
    @soundman98

    Dry ran a file, 4:59 long, with many starts and stops at 100ipm

    Marks line up with the coupler and axis screw exactly where they were before the run started

    But really I need to focus on the one thing I noticed; the cutting sounded as if it were fluttering when it created the jagged cuts.

    That tells me something is going on within the torch as far as air flowing; I'm hoping it's as someone said and maybe debris got stuck inside there or something (before the consumable side) and I can blow it out later with everything removed.

    @Kwikvette

    I walked past the LT thread last night and saw you saying something about not being able to use a game controller with Firecontrol vs Mach3

    I and others use wireless Xbox controllers mapped by Antimicro ( AntiMicro - Download [OFFICIAL] ). I keep my laptop 10 feet from my table so using it to set my home position comes in handy. Just launch Antimicro before opening FC and it works fine.

    Here is a thread showing FC keyboard commands that can be programmed:

    Got shamed into breaking out the plasma table by a member here. Been a full year since I cut anything.

    Sister in law wanted a yard ornament in memory of her Bichon Friese doggo.

    Still need to attach it to some rebar so it can be stabbed into the lawn.

    She said she wanted to paint it.

    Think it's hilarious that my jagged cut issue is very random at this point.

    Only occurred once; not on the first piece, not on the last piece, and not as the first or last cut on that piece.

    Here's a close up of the many holes and edges that all came out clean as usual -

    Any chance it could be impurities in the iron?

    New cold rolled steel for the 10 gauge and 16 gauge, both sourced from separate suppliers.

    The 1/4" was a remnant from a friend from an altogether different city.

    So all 3 pieces that experienced said jagged cut, were all from different sources.

    But one thing that stood out that I mentioned to a friend; he asked about my location/etc. cause he suggested excessive table movement/wobbling could've caused it based on all my troubleshooting to no avail.

    Definitely triggering the hell out of my OCD

    I have a ton of square tubing so I just need to get time to myself and reinforce the whole thing to keep it from moving a lot

    Maybe that's the cause but we'll see

    @Shmellmopwho get yourself the machine torch mount asap!

    Aside from mounting points, the biggest reason being that it'll ensure your torch is square to your table
