Do you have a build post? What are you using for engine management?
I’d love to see more photos.
When my supercharged 3.4 needs a head gasket, I will do an engine swap with a 2JZ or a small V8. Exploring the possibilities.

2JZs are ridiculously expensive nowadays because Supra guys are bananas. 1UZ is an awesome alternative. If you want to boost it, make sure you go with a thick rod (94 or earlier). Otherwise, may as well get a 98-00 with VVTI to get the most power out of the stock motor.

I am also interested in the build though.

If I had to swap I'd rather go 1.9TDI. Plenty of power and hella mpg's.

2jz-ge are still under 1k. They need rods and pistons for anything more than 400 but it's a 2jz nonetheless. Bang for buck power is getting rids of the cats and changing over to blow through muffler and resonator. I'd cut the exhaust off at the back of the cab so there are fewer bends over the axle. The fan clutch sucks up some power so switching to efans. KNN filter is good for 2hp. Deck plate mod might help. Tune-up is always good.

Everyones goals are different when it comes to engine swap and more power, and true no bigger giggle factor than a 2JZ with twin turbos, but then comes budget, rely ability, sustainability, do you want AC?
will the tach work? wiring in cab interface can be a pain. Like a lot of people on here I looked into supercharging my 3RZ, did a lot of research on here and some of the veterans on here who have done it were like MEH not really excited about it, and its what $3800. to get started? oh and your motor has 235,000 miles on it? ehh just do a head gasket, oh well got the head off might as well do a valve job, well might as well do the 5th injector with piggy back controller, oh were making more heat need meth injection now, see where this is going? $$$$$$$$ and after all this what did you get? 70hp.....maybe?
This is why i stand by my statement for replacing the tired 3RZ with a 1UZ, yeah i get it with the 3.4 SC there is a positive return there, you could see almost 300hp. Putting pressure (SC orTurbo)on a high milage 20+ year old 4cyl is going to take lots of money and effort to keep it reliable, soooo why not just put an engine in there that was designed to put out the power your looking for? I spent $800. for a stripped 1993 Lexus SC400 that had 105,000 miles on it, all the drive train was in it, a supercharger kit for a 3RZ is what...$3800? yes the entire swap did cost a little more money but thats a lot of latitude for expenses, thats enough driveling for the night.

the only mod that will get you any noticeable gains without boost is a nice set of headers. they are very expensive and VERY hard to install so maybe not worth it to most people. personally i just went turbo and didnt bother with na mods

Well I guess everyone here isn't regeared and doesn't know that it's the only way to regain your lost power from adding bigger tires and armor
