Hey all, could someone post pictures of their bed where it meets the cab? I'm looking at getting a cap and want to make sure everything is properly aligned before making the purchase. Mine has a definite bow along the back edge that I don't believe is factory. Thanks!

It’s not factory. Live with it. my 2000 with 59k miles got bent from a go kart pushing it in when I slammed the tailgate with all my force

if you’re worried about it, just unbend it

No, but the bed is off now and I can tweak it. I'm just not sure if it came with a slight curve or was built straight which is why I'm hoping for a picture or two of others in better shape.

    They’re supposed to be straight
Not many examples left that have a straight bed

Great, if I'm lucky I might actually be able to do it without putting more dents in the thing then

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The only way A20 year old truck might still have a straight bed is if the bed never had anything ever in the bed .

Never hauled anything in the life of the truck.

The back at the tailgate is more critical with weight on the bed sides the bed likes to spread apart.

    Good luck!

My bed was like that. sometimes it can be hard to prevent leaks there with a canopy. Went to a canopy installer and they straightened the bed, and now it fits the canopy better

Interesting, thanks. Didn't realize they would do that. My goal is to straighten before one is put on and somehow seal those gaps at the corners. I tried silicone in the past but had limited success.

Mine does have a bit of a curve that’s a bit hard to see with the bedliner.

Yeaaa I may have done something similar with my tailgate and a hammer...

At the end of the day it is a truck like everyone says but sometimes I like to pretend I can have nice things

Do like me and put a cap on, nobody will ever know. Plus, the things you put in the bed won't get wet

I've been considering a bed cover. I just know that the moment I put one on, ill need to haul something big. Ive been considering maybe something that folds out of the way and lays flat when deployed. that way I at least can cover my steel targets in the truck bed from getting rained on and rusted. My brother has a hard plastic like foldy cover on his 2016 tacoma, seems nice.

Ya I had the same issue, I've tried most things and each have their pro's and cons. My girlfriend has the vinyl tri-fold on her 2014 and it's nice if you never have anything above bed height but ends up being a huge pain if you do. Plus the vinyl you need to worry about puncturing.

I had a cap previously and absolutely hated it since it was old, leaked, and had terrible visibility. The back window was missing when I bought it and I replaced with lexan and the cab height roof I hit my head on constantly. I'm biting the bullet and ordering a new ARE MX to hopefully solve all those issues but am really going back to the cap because an exposed bed sucks.

Currently replacing a toolbox and rack with it. This setup has been great but the toolbox cuts the bed space down by ~2' on an already small space and you can't find any tonneaus that fit with it to protect things in the bed. I move every year or so and need as much room as I can for it, especially with the xtra cab instead of a double.

Nice! It's on my list but haven't got around to it yet. Line-x?
