Long story short the roof has began fading badly within a short period of time here is South Florida. The paint is Silver Sky Metallic. Questions:

    1. Does the roof paint need to be corrected before adding a wrap?

    2. What color wrap would be best for reducing heat and will have a the best accent for silver sky metallic?

    1. Once the clearcoat fails, there's no correcting it.

    2. Mirror finish chrome will reflect the most light/heat... but honestly, I'd just wrap it in the closest silver matched wrap (3M) as possible.

No paint correction required, had my roof and hood done last November to cover up the crappy Toyota paint.IMG_1603.jpg

will a wash and clay bar be enough to get it ready for a wrap?

Wash. Clean with alcohol. Wrap. Don't overthink. Nobody sees it.

White would be the best for heat reflectivity, think FJ Cruiser.

Or you could just keep the truck waxed, that will be the best way to protect the paint and you get to enjoy the paint. I never understood this wrapping vehicles. I understand why businesses do it because they can get all the graphics and such on their vehicles to advertise their business, but private cars I just don't get it. Yeah I have heard the but when I sell it I can peal the wrap off and the paint looks good, but again if you keep your vehicle waxed it all washes out in the end.

This is not necessarily true. I take very good care of the paint and use quality products, but yet my roof, hood, and mirror caps deteriorated very quick, the rest of the paint on my truck is near perfect.

Don't paint it black unless you want to sit in an oven-- I don't get the black roof thing. Stick with silver or just leave it. How often do you look at your roof anyway?
