I’m getting super frustrated right now. I set up my Primeweld Cut60 today and the first couple cuts went well. But now after that, fire control is losing connection with the table every time I go to cut something

    Awe shit

You're obviously very well versed in this so I won't ask the dumb questions

Your CPC plug, did you get good solders on them? They didn't break loose maybe?

Wait disregard, you said table...as in to the stepper motors right

Think I figured it out. I got a new USB cable with Ferrite Chokes on both ends and it runs fine. For now haha. We’ll see how things continue to run. I think the new usb cable will help to mitigate any “noise” and let all components play nicely together

    Awe man

Good thing you found a solution but damn that would've pissed me off

I've read about all these issues with USB cables, not using a laptop, etc all this crazy shit and I've had none of those issues

My jagged cuts though may be seismic related IE nearby train tracks and/or jarred movements made by the table itself during cutting

    Same.

I've had no issues with EMR interference. I too am using a laptop. My cables have no ferrite filters either.

Only one time I have issues with jagged cuts. I believe it was the DXF I got off a forum. It was programmed into the G code...I think.

Files I made myself and turned into G code are butter smooth.

On the plus side, it forced me to tune my stepper velocity and acceleration, among with Kernal speed.

Not a single problem ever with my Hypertherm but I just needed more amperage for thicker cuts and the Primeweld Cut60 fit the bill budget wise for right now. Been spending a looot of money lately and didn’t wanna buy a $2500 hypertherm 45. Just had to have my cat’s leg amputated cuz she had cancer in her femur and that was $3200 lol. Thank goodness she’s good now. But anyways, hopefully that remedy took care of all the problems and I’ll keep you guys updated!

All I know is my table is like a 2 year old.

It can be behaving and a joy to be with.

Turn your head and the little fucker is jigging up and down the hall ways!

These are not " once and done" pieces of equipment.

Plan on fucking with it and making it behave for as long as you own it!

...and then...someone posts a new feature you weren't aware of...you get to learn all over again!

Then of course, you have me, who took a full year off of using the table.

I get to spend a week learning all I knew before, over again.

In short, I do not regret one bit of the time and money I spent on my CNC plasma table.

Thanks. The vet got the biopsy results back and confirmed it was a osteosarcoma but they’re very confident that it hadn’t spread up further and that they were able to cut off the spread by cutting off the leg. Fingers crossed!

It's fair to say no one's ever regretted spending time (or money) on their CNC setup AFAIK

It's just frustrating when you're capable of clean parts with great cuts, and a wrench is thrown in the loop that isn't caused by anything you normally control

I do have 7 signs to knock out but not yet, maybe this weekend

Not in this area, though it could be a possibility and I just can't feel them in the garage?

I do however notice my table moves a shit ton and I mean a lot as the torch cycles through cutting

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I was thinking Earth Tremors but I did not want to seem more stupid then normal.

Trains will do that If you ever watched how much they bounce around no wonder they fall off so often.

Road crossings are even worse. We have one crossing built on Coal Dirt they have tried repairing many times it lasts a few weeks and the trains start falling off again. Going down 50' and filling with ballast did not help.

True. I've been cutting with mine for almost 10 months now and never had the wavy line syndrome... until yesterday. I think just me reading @Kwikvette posts gave my cutter the idea to act up!

Ignore the paint job, it's just getting started.

This sign was originally made by somebody else. I made a lot of changes to the top half but left the text alone. I may replace all the text (all looks like $hit) and try again, but this one is still usable, just not perfect. As sloppy as it looks, I think maybe the original creator may have not created a text box but used converted image text.

Once it's painted, the average person won't notice it from 5' away.

    Sign looks good!

But damn you're suddenly the 3 or 4th person recently posting about the zig zagging cuts now :bananadead:

Need to mount this to my RV bumper. The tire/bracket is going away obviously.

Designed a bracket out of 16g sheet metal. Used F360 to create the sketch then manufacture the G code PXL_20230817_170319653.jpg

Cut out bracket parts for 4 brackets.

The holes are just to remove weight.
