So I've been using this for awhile. Three months or so. It's been great. Just one odd tick.

My Verizon Cloud service through my phone provider has a map with photo location meta data pins that allow you to see where photos were taken. You can click on the pin on the map to see the photo taken in that location.

I have mine turned OFF, which means there are no pins on the map.

The other day, when I zoom out to a global view, I notice a single pin in the map. It was in Hong Kong. I click the pin and it's three photos from an install test at my buddy's garage in NY.

My question is, does the Fitcam have address meta data and is it locked to the company or factory address?

So glad I got one of these, easy install and once I got the app going the camera saves every trip and you can download previous trips from the camera onto your phone whenever you’re in the truck. I like how it does it’s own recording and you can just forget it’s even there in case of any accidents ect.

I ended up using the belt clip too, but couldn't get the camera to stick to it using just the 3M tape it came with. I ended up adding a small screw to keep the clip on with the 3M between them.

my fitcamx saved me last sunday. was driving on a new road that just opened up next to a walmart and three cars in a row ran a stop sign (just following each other like lemmings). I was traveling straight and a young girl just ran into my front left tire while crossing the intersection. She tried to lie and say it was my fault somehow even though i did not have a yield sign or a stop sign. The dash cam saved my ass and got her insurance company to quickly accept liability. Shop is closed all week for the 4th so I have the rental truck until July 18th. Her insurance rates are definitely going to go up. shop estimates about $3800 in damage.

I think front left fender needs to be replaced, bumper cover, left headlight, wheel, and possibly steering knuckle/spindle and strut assembly. got a precollision system malfunction probably because the alignment is so out of whack.

I’ve seen a few people have had issues with it not recording but not a lot, I’m going to see if they go on sale for prime day and might get the 3 year protection plan

The one in Tacoma is a year old. Every other month I reformat the card.

Is that something you have to do? I have had a BlackVue in my 2017 for 5 years and never had to do that

It depends on the firmware it comes with. Mine had an older version and it did not overwrite. They sent me an updated version when I emailed them about it. No issues since.

Everyone still liking this dashcam? Is there any difference between ordering on Amazon vs their website? Looks to be the same price $168 + 5% off.

I ordered my first one through their website and it came directly from China, took about a week and half to arrive. I would just buy off Amazon to get it sooner.

I would buy off Amazon just in case there is a problem. Would be easier to return.

My fitcamx has only been recoding 1 sec videos, I have it set to 3min loop but that only lasted a few days, I tried formatting the SD card and reached out to customer support, I am thinking it is an issue with the SD card. Anyone experienced this problem?

Haven't seen this issue yet, but first thing I did was buy a proper SanDisk Endurance 128GB SD Card. Was like $18? I wouldn't trust any manufacturer's included mystery meat card.
