    Which "other" way?

    I just winged it.

I've tried it some today, but it seems the bench sander is my friend.

Went to the wood pile this morning and hacked our a few slabs.

Canted in towards the center, rather than out away. Although after looking at photos online, they look to be inline or slightly outward but pointing towards you with the blade parallel.

This type maybe be easier to control the blade angle. I tried to put a bend in that blade, which I think would be better to control the "bite" but it was a no go. Didn't want to break my vise.

Fixed it! I’ll test it out tomorrow, I added a tiny amount of glue on the post.

I tried using it upsidedown, is that what you meant? I guess I'm a little thick.

I tried it again for shaping the eye, and it works well both ways actually for smaller strokes.
    IMG_20230816_154922.jpg
Speaking of strokes, I spent the afternoon :jerkoff:

    sanding!

While I was hanging the head I busted off a piece of the handle. Can't have everything.
    IMG_20230816_164520.jpg

Maybe I'll try it tomorrow. I'm afraid.
    IMG_20230816_182420.jpg

I do have a new one on the way too. :)

I was just trying to explain what @wilcam47 said... I've seen draw knives before but never used one.. and it looks like you made yours work pretty well.. that handle is awesome!

    ...several hours later...

It was hot and humid today.

    7 lawns cut
    5 lawns trimmed
5 properties, cut brush with the Makita 18V chainsaw
    4 batteries
    1 rainstorm
    1 full quart of oil
    40 oz. tea
    100 oz. water

The wheezy old New Holland did everything (slower than the ZT) without a hitch - except digesting that oil.

The wheezy old man on the other hand - :bananadead:

Morning crew. I pulled a dummy and locked myself out and had to call the wife who just got to work to turn around and bail me out...
Anyone else ever locked themselves out?
