Yelp, that was a entertaining read, glad all worked out for you OP.

Still can't believe folks pay 50k+ for a Tacoma..

I was going to say I agree (which I do) and then brag about how I purchased mine new at the dealership for $32K. Then I started adding up the cost of all my mods and I’d say I’m around $50K. So nevermind lol

I could not believe that people were paying full MSRP of $43,750.00 $CDN for a TRD Sport in the fall of 2020. If I didn't agree, someone else would.

Mine topped out at $53,247.04 $CDN after taxes, accessories and fees. $5,651.47 $CDN in taxes alone. $1,840.00 $CDN for freight & PDI, $100.00 AC recovery fee, DOC fee $495.00 and Tire Levy of $25.

For 2023, Same model is now a MRSP of $49,455.00 but price now includes.....

    From Toyota Canada......

"Vehicle Price reflects Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) in Canadian dollars and includes Freight & PDI of $1,930, Air Conditioning Charge of $100, Tire Levy of $25, and Dealer Fees of up to $990.

Vehicle Price does not include GST, PST and if leased or financed - applicable PPSA fee of up to $98 and PPSA service fee of up to $4 (varies by lease/loan/term/province). Insurance, license and if applicable, lien registration fees are not included.

Vehicle Price includes Roadside Assistance, a full tank of gas and floor mats (floor mats included with carpeted vehicles only).

Dealer may sell for less. A Toyota Dealership is free to set its own selling price for Toyota products and services".

    2024 prices??????????

Ridiculous in my opinion, but there is a butt for every seat. As I said many times on TW, I love my truck, but I though 32k was steep then and in my opinion almost not worth it. Could I luckily afford it yes, but somethings are simply not worth the asking price. We may see prices drop, but who truly knows...

I'd rather pay the $53k CAN I paid for my truck out the door vs the $75k + taxes for the shitty domestic half ton trucks they are selling around here. My buddy has a 2020 Chevy 2500hd diesel with 65k KMS on it. Emergency/parking brake shoes material fell off the metal shoe. By the time he finished with the repair he was $600 in parts for 4 shoes and two inner seals. He did the repair himself. And some guys want rear disc brakes on the Tacoma? Give your head a shake! Again I'm happy to pay $53k for my truck vs the piece of shit he got for $100k

@WilmingtonTacomaNC haha thanks. Happy it worked out as well. Didn’t intend for it to continue for so long but was happy to receive some wise words and entertained by some other remarks.

some talk big, about how they wouldn't pay today's going rate, but they don't need to buy right now, so they don't have to back it up.
God forbid someone stole their vehicle, or something happened to it, and now they needed wheels,,, yeah,,, you'd be eating crow.

@asuchemist I just did circles in the lot in switching between them. Wanted to make sure that they all actually engaged.

@MGMDesertTaco Damn that’s too bad! I’ve read some negative things about the backflip. Thinking about maybe the Peragon or Rough Country retractable

@dnlskier thank u! I was originally looking at used ones but even those seemed outrageously high, especially in my area. I feel like the price on them will just keep going up?
