    Dr ColorChip

I've used it on 2 Toyotas and a Kia with near perfect results. It takes time to build layers, but it's easy to get near invisible repairs.

It does not seem that you need a primer with this product? I have a little bit of Rust under a few chips and wonder if you paint right over that?

You need to address the rust first. My chips and dings have been down to primer. The wife's Kia had one down to metal. You can find tiny pencil point abrasive stones that will let you work out the rust and then I would put a lite coat of Dulicolor primer down... with a toothpick keeping it below surface, let it flash off overnight and then Dr ColorChip over it.

I've found that Dr ColorChip can be removed with aggressive use of Acetone so I'm not quite sure that the paint is, but I have doubts it's a rust inhibiter.

As others have recommended, Dr. ColorChip to the rescue. It can be kind of tedious, may take a few coats but miles better than blob pens and brushes. Perfect color match. Watch a few DIY videos to get the gist of how it works. Buff it afterward, coat of wax and only you will know it was there. Sign up for their email promos for regular 15% off deals.

It's not the cheapest, but I'm still using a kit I bought a couple of years ago for another vehicle. Lasts a long, long time.

I've found keeping the kit in the cool basement does help with shelf life. The 1st kit I ordered lasted about 3 years before the paint became difficult to work with... thickened too much to flow well.

Another tid-bit... My taco received it's first chip on a non-plastic part early last winter. I was worried about use of the Dr ColorChip and adhesion during the cold. I reached out to them (excellent customer service) and they told me as long as the painted surface is above freezing while drying, it was good to use. I waited for a day where the barn managed about 40F late morning and left it dry overnight. I have had no issues with that particular chip repair. It also works well on the front plastic around the grill and bumper.

Just a touch of clean coat over the chip and I'm done.

I’ve been using the Toyota touch up paint that comes in the little bottle. A little off topic, but what can I do with the faded parking sensors?
