Why doesn't Toyota partner up with someone that does all the mods on Tacomas?
Reason I ask is my granddaughter just took delivery of her Jeep Rubicon. They sent it to their authorized shop. Installed huge wheels & beadlocks, a 3+" lift, Fox shocks with reservoirs, rock sliders, steel bumpers with recovery points, 12k Warn winch, and lights all over it. There's more but I can't remember. Turn key go wheeling on some serious shit.
I'm guessing it's for liability, truth is they don't want your off road going off road ;)
Jeep doesn't give a shit & they can get over 100k for a tricked out truck & you can finance it all.
The Ford Bronco has the Raptor. Just seems Toyota is selling themselves short.
Hell, we can't even get a front locker!

Far more likely that it's not Jeep partnering with anyone at a local level but rather the Jeep dealership. I've seen that in my area.

Isn’t that pretty much what they just did with gen4 ? I was adding all that to a 2022 that I was building at Toyota until the dealership went in that dealership direction and pissed me off. And bought slightly used online.

Some Toyota dealerships will add aftermarket doodads too, it’s often cheap shit at a crazy markups, under the guise that’s it’s covered under warranty. But that “warranty” is the dealer’s liability, not Toyota’s, and it’s only as good as their word.
Manufacturer’s offerings are heavily regulated by the big GOV, and I’d go so far as to say many aftermarket doodads rarely meet their testing and design standards.

I think in her case- you are right, it was Jeep that did the mods. All mods keep the factory warranty too. Try that with your tuned & lifted Tacoma. Seem Jeep wants you to go out & get them muddy. We get GPS that tracks where you are going. LOL

No money, all went to truck...
no need to, they sell a crap ton of vehicles without all the hassle of partnerships.

It's really an "untoyota" like thing to do. They are all about quality control, tight company management.

    and liability.

Buddy I hate to piss in your cheerios, but read the fine print. Non-OEM modifications come with their own warranty, its not covered under the factory 3/36. It doesn't matter which brand wrote the warranty. But more importantly, you really don't want to find out the hard way what happens when you bring a truck in for warranty and they see mud on the undercarriage.

Dealers can farm out their accessory add-ons, but what you're speaking of isn't a Chrysler/Jeep partnership. I work at a Jeep store and we install MoPar accessories that have warranties. We will not install aftermarket parts. Factory warranty obviously won't cover that.

Toyota dealer by my house has a parts store in the showroom. They stock lots of different wheels/eibach lifts/winches and other accessories. I’m sure it’s great for anyone that wants to finance a $1200 set of method wheels for $2500.

OP probably believes a Toyota dealership is Toyota itself. SMH.

Came in here to shit on Toyota, ends up pooping on himself instead.

All those overpriced add-ons, yet no tightening of the nut behind the steering wheel. A recipe for success!

Yep, but your a little off topic. I believe we're speaking of Toyota accessories not Jeep's dependability, but, whatever.

I don't think we need to make it easier for people to throw a bunch of mods on a CC and go clog up the great outdoors. It's too crowded out here already

OP’s granddaughter fell victim to assuming since the dealer sold/installed these doodads, they’re under Chrysler/Jeep’s warranty protection. Happens every day, people believe what they want, especially when it comes to this type of stuff.
I’m sure she’ll still enjoy it though.

1-I’d bet my paycheck she didn’t get beadlocks. They aren’t DOT legal and require extremely high maintenance.
2-She paid well over twice as much as if she would have bought everything herself and paid a shop to install it all.
3-Jeep will 100% NOT cover ANY of the parts the third party shop installed. If that winch goes bad in Moab, the Jeep dealer in Montrose won’t put a new Warn winch on it under any factory warranties.
