So I posted about a week ago regarding wind noise and flapping molding on my driver's side window, when the window is down. It's actually loose on both doors on the driver's side buy tight on the passengers side. I found the part is the window run channel. So with all that info, anyone know how to seat it in place? This is the seal the windows seals against when the window is closed. I don't want to go to the dealer, I hate anyone touching my shit and it has 800 miles. 2023 tacoma trd off road.

I'm wondering if I need some type of seating tool to push up in it that spreads the rubber and makes it go into a channel. It's not glued, I know that. Also, it's not so loose I can pull it down and see how it attaches. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and pull it down to see what lips it has and where they need to go if no one knows.
    Thanks

Let the dealership take care of it, easy fix and it will be done right.

Warranty issue. Don't screw with it and void it.

If it's a simple push in with a spatula or something, I'd rather just do it myself. I hate going to the dealer. I will get more scratches, have people thst can't drive a manual smoke my clutch, etc. So if I could do it I'd like to. I just don't know how to seat it.

Just pull it out and then lightly lube the new one on both sides. Gently feed it down the channels. It's only a compression fit into the channel. Sometimes having the window about half up and while pushing down on the rubber roll the window down and it'll help pull it down and into place. Hope that makes sense.

It's not down, it's push up on it. If it's a compression fit it's not compressing. Look at the top of window. Roll it down a few inches. The top black molding is my issue and I can't seat it.

Common issue. My 2022 was super loose. Made all kinda noise. My 2023 is tight . I think it’s almost more of a problem with the door itself rather than a problem with the rubber. Either way have the dealer look at it and document it.

How the door? It's both doors on the driver's side. Like the factory forgot to roll them into place and seat them.

Here's a picture. Not the top black rubber, the bottom piece. Where if you rolled up the window it meets. So black molding on top, red paint in middle, black molding on bottom. The bottom is the issue, both doors on driver's side.

    Some Boltons
What i did was pull down the trim
And put thin double sided tape along the top.
    Than just roll up window
Mines been good for 2 years now.
    Put it inside the molding.

Nothing to see but what you see, ha. The molding is not seated tightly, which you can't tell from the picture. Just pointing out the problem area. If I hold my finger on it, it diesnt move when driving on the highway. I just can't seat it, I can't figure out where the lips are to hold it in place and I'm hesitant to rip it all the way down to see.
It's like it has two install operations. Initial placement, then another operation to spread the rubber and seat into its final resting spot. I just don't know what the final operation is to seat it. And yes, I pushed on it. I must need like a triangular device or tool to shove up into the track which spreads it or something and seats it. But I'm looking for confirmation, really no techs on here???

Ok, but its not. And when I push it will not seat. My passengers sides are both tight. If so confident, pull yours out and tell me how you get it back in place please.
