See alot of people running 285/75/r16 tires on this thread. No rubbing with a 2-inch lift? (bilstein 5100 & icon 1.5 Add a leaf) I'm new to the tacoma scene and just want to get the right info for when I decide to start adding things to my truck.

    A few.
It really depends on what gen Taco, wheel spacing, and offset. I have the rub at full squish and wheels turned on my 1st gen, but I’m also running 1.25” wheel spacers. I had to flatten the pinch welds, trim the fender liner, and massage the fender well with a 2lb. hammer.

On my 3rd gen, from what I’ve read I’d have to do a body mount chop and some fender well massaging to fit 285/75R16’s. But I don’t plan to lift that truck anytime soon, it looks great with 265/75R16’s. Not sure what a 2nd gen takes because I’ve never owned one or done the research. YMMV

I replaced all the rusty bolts on all 5 wheels with new SS bolts to freshen up the look.

    Then this happened

But this was the only damage. My local tire shop are into off roading (benefits of being close to Rausch and AOAA) so they de mounted the tire, smoothed out the damage and was able to get it to seal fairly easily, though they added some bead sealer for extra security.

Gotta love how strong these Method wheels are!

    zigged when I shoulda zagged.

nah, was hung up on my belly skid and got yanked to the driverside and as the wheel went down the rock it turned the wheel while the yank was in progress

lesson learned, stack rocks on the way down or i should buy a winch lol

edit: I think I was at 15 psi

its not a true beadlock. that i already knew for years. and yes the ring does come off cause you can buy replacement rings and even the bolts that hold it in place from method. one thing i am not sure is the ring coming off without the tire becoming. some of my rings are scratched up and wanted to sand it down. sand blast and paint it

I havent seen many if anyone running these wheels, but i really dig how OEM they look, and the "Beadgrip" feature has been praised by a few different folks.
I'm liking the Skinnies so far, and no rubbing that I've found. This will be my 3rd set of WPs, because they are just a damn good all around tire.

Thanks! I actually had the install done at Discount Tire in Holiday UT! They did a top notch job, and even price matched the lugs I found online. All around good service at that location.
