Not who you asked but I have mine mounted where the factory one is (centered above the Toyota) and even that angle leaves something to be desired, IMO. I’d imagine mounting it lower would be exaggerate that even more.

@51Beets Do you have a picture of how you mounted it. Trying to figure out what works best. Thanks!

I think I’m good now. I took and old license plate and cut some shims for that so I can tighten it down with the provided nut. I’ll show some pictures later. I’m proud of my hack.

Everything is installed and working as expected. It definitely will come in handy. In the picture, the black item is 1 of 3 wedge shims provided with the camera. I used all between the camera and outside of the grille. The other is 1 of 2 shims I cut from an old license plate and put in the camera hole of the grille so I could tighten the camera to the grille with the provided nut. Seems to work but will get a good road test tomorrow.

I have the factory 360 cameras, and it so nice to see and know where your front is.

I installed the anytime front and rear camera kit. Honestly I'm decent at car stereo stuff and I found it challenging. Support is via email and you can definitely tell this is the guys side business but he did try to help me and it does work as it should.

I bought it thru Trail Grid Pro, with the harness. It went smooth and I suck at car audio. Still trying to figure how to install my Kicker amp.

My issue was I tried to do all the splices in the truck with crip but splice things. Totally got frustrated gave up for a while. Then put as much as possible together on a work bench with these heat shrink solder tube things. As far as the Alpine I amp got, I installed that the same day as try 2 for the camera. Same strategy. Lay it all out in an organized way put the harness together then get it in to dash.

I'm interested in heading down this path, my question that I haven't seen answered in any other posts is that I would like the anytime cameras, but I also want front/rear dashcam for recording. Is there anyway to tie the anytime camera somution into a recording recording platform as well?

Not sure if anyone has figured that out. Honestly I think the dash cam I have in the windshield has a way better forward view than the grill camera is. Its much clearer wider view. I only have a $90 Auckey 1080p camera.

The point of having the camera low is to see what’s directly in front of you. Having it on the windshield you’re just seeing exactly what you see which is nice for a dash cam but completely irrelevant for the purpose of an off road front camera.

Agreed the grill camera is for off road and seeing how close you are when parking. Dash cam is for seeing what you see for insurance if you have an accident. Different uses

I did an unscientific experiment to see what additional visibility the camera gave me. I laid out a tape measure that started at the tip of where my license plate holder ended, laying forward. I'm a little over 6' tall, my '21 Sport has the scooped hood, TRD Pro grille with camera slot and TRD lift. Sitting in the driver's seat, the truck stationary, my blind spot is from 0' to 20'. I turned the front camera on, and it displayed from 0' to 13'. I'm sure that's fine for the primary purpose, but the engineer in me wants to see the extra 7'. I bought my camera from TrailGrid Pro and used all 3 provided shims. Here's a picture of the camera setup:

I really like that. I don't have the printing skills to design that, yet anyways.
