Entune microphone

We have a 2020 and a 2023 Tacoma and the one consistent problem, which the dealer denies is an issue, and Entune phone calls are terrible. Our aftermarket phone system for our 3rd Taco (2004) works perfect.

Our car stereo guy tells us this is common and the problem is the Toyota microphone, and to replace it, we need to install an aftermarket system.

Is this a known issue?

 

I have not read any issues and have none with mine.
Maybe try pairing up a friend's phone and have a listen. are you using it with the windows down and/or the fan on high? I am guessing air blowing past it, wouldn't help.

 

It's a very subpar mic, no doubt. I talk to my buddy a lot on FaceTime Audio and when I forget my AirPods and use the truck mic...right away its "why do you sound like shit" and its because I"m using the truck mic lol.

People tell me my factory mic sounds clear. I do aim my mouth toward the map lights while keeping my eyes on the road when I talk.

 

If you haven’t try going through the complete phone setup process.

Make sure it’s paired correctly and let it relearn your voice through voice recognition. It asks for you to repeat some sentences.
Another thing to try is in the HU settings click on Voice and turn it up.
