I'll always be a fan of that heritage grill. Nice job! Makes me want to try and pick up a Lunar myself!

Thanks! It definitely is a fun color.
Thank you sir! If you can find a LR, dooooo it! It looks even better in person. Looks good on all trim levels so far too.

Swapped out my CH4x4 push style switches for AOB switches. The LED backlighting is much closer to stock. Since I drive with the DRLs on almost always the mis-matched blue was really getting to my neurotic tendencies. Even though I prefer the etching/symbols on the CH4x4 switches better I think I will be more satisfied with the new switches.

If anyone is looking for switches I have a few spare ones to get rid of now :notsure:

I’ve been working on a few modifications but I’ll get around to posting those eventually. For now just a photo dump of a few trips

5/30/22 - Holly Oaks ORV Park
Lots of new additions to the park since last year which was nice. I didn’t push things too hard because I had no other vehicles with me and the park was relatively empty. Besides some pinstripes and a bash to the front skid plate, I skated by with only minor damage. Fun day!

    6/13/22 - Silver Lake Dunes
Probably my favorite trip to date. If you’re in the area I would highly suggest you make a visit. Spent the day with a coworker and his JL Rubicon. The truck performed well beyond getting stuck at the peak of a steep dune, either way only good things to report.

I’ve been waiting since March, but my Baja Designs S2 sports finally came in, so I wired those puppies up as chase lights:

I decided not to use the supplied wiring harness and made my own. I attempted to keep everything tucked away and hidden within the roof rack, leaving the crossbars functionally open. Not the cleanest job but it’ll do.

Since my last posting I also had the truck tuned w/ the KDMAXX Pro+ tune, and installed a FITCAMX dash integrated dash cam:
    upload_2022-7-2_19-21-37.jpg
    upload_2022-7-2_19-21-51.jpg
Also picked up a KTJO driver side grab handle, compliments of @Aqualoon
    upload_2022-7-2_19-35-55.jpg

Before installing the S2 pods I did a little experimenting- I’ve been considering upgrading fog lights for a while but I like the look of the Pro fog housing and would like to find a way to improve light output without swapping the fog housing. I haven’t seen anyone try this one out yet:
    upload_2022-7-2_19-41-29.jpg
I would have to order another set of lights but feel like I could wire them into the current fog harness since the BD S2 sports only draw half an amp each, and mount them in the unused upper pocket for double the fog lights… Maybe a project for the future?

Just a few small updates. Added extra cleats to the Diamondback which will eventually be utilized whenever I get around to fabricated a quick release bed rack:

    upload_2022-10-4_14-11-46.jpg
Also installed the ARB rear diff breather kit in driver side taillight:

Next up will be an oil change and 15k maintenance interval. Doubt I will post anything further about that.

Just a little winter time fun on my way into work this morning. Back roads were empty and I made sure I could see all the deer ahead of time :D

I’ve gotten back on track with modding this summer… This build has continued and I have a few items to report.

Firstly, after sitting in the garage for 4 months these goodies finally saw the light of day:
    upload_2023-8-18_13-26-46.jpg
Eibach TRD Pro upgraded springs, Icon RXT leaf packs, Wheeler’s super bumps/U-bolt flip kit.

Before installing the leaf pack, I found and gave these a shot:
    upload_2023-8-18_13-29-8.jpg
My hope is that this prevents the normal creeks that develop, or at least extends the length of time before they show up. Here is the leaf packs rebuilt with the liners installed:
    upload_2023-8-18_13-31-8.jpg

Install day went pretty smooth overall. Took about 4 hours total for a friend and I to install all the suspension components.

    upload_2023-8-18_13-33-19.jpg
    upload_2023-8-18_13-34-1.jpg
I’m digging how the U-bolt flip cleans up the rear undercarriage.

I don’t have the great before/after pics but overall gained 1.5” in front and about 2” in the rear

    Before:

    After:
    upload_2023-8-18_13-37-46.png
The difference is subtle but noticeable. I feel like this is the stance that should have came from the factory. After several weeks I would report that I am overall happier with the lift. The ‘on road’ performance is excellent. The minor increase in stiffness has drastically reduced nose dive, and out of all things has actually made my shifts feel cleaner due to the reduced body roll, etc. I will say I that the stiffness has taken the edge out of the soft, floaty feel that I used to get on rough roads/speed bumps but it’s not harsh enough for me regret the change.

Also dropped some moolah at RCI to complete my underbody protection; trans and t-case skids added in raw aluminum. Installed just in time for some shenanigans at Holly Oaks ORV with some Canadian brethren:
    upload_2023-8-18_16-23-30.jpg

That trip turned into a pseudo-shakedown run of the new suspension components in preparation for a bigger trip this fall.
    upload_2023-8-18_16-29-4.jpg
Conclusion of suspension updates off road: :thumbsup:
The added stiffness was bearable (gotta remember this is a daily driver primarily) and the added ground clearance made easy work of some familiar trails. 33s will be coming when my current tires wear down enough.

    upload_2023-8-18_16-32-13.jpg
I’ve got some small details to button up and then next comes some Comms to address.

Nice! What 33”s are you gonna go with? Or are you still deciding?

Still deciding. I really like the Maxxis Razr so far and am tempted to stick with them because I don’t see many people in the states running them. BUT I’m open to suggestions! There are so many good options out there, you almost can’t go wrong with anything that’s popular.

I’ve been doing a lot of research because my Grabbers have gotten really loud (like, louder than the mud terrains I used to run) so I’m going to switch it up soon too. The Maxxis are in my top 2! I’ve literally never been able to find a bad review about them. The Wildpeak AT3W’s are my other top choice because they have the 3PMS rating and they’re supposedly extremely good in the rain and snow, which is big for me.

Idk if you have considered the wildpeak but I recently found out that they’re planning on releasing the AT4W early next year so I might wait for that. It’s a tough choice though. Like you said, so many good options out there.

Thanks for the tip on the wildpeaks. I have considered them, I’ve also been tempted my the MT bajas. But like you having ATs that are snow/ice rates his high priority.

I really like the Baja Bosses too, they have the 3PMS rating also. The only thing that has kept me from getting them is the weight but I’m sure it would be a fair trade for how good they are in all conditions.

Thats another tire that I can’t find any bad reviews about.

GMRS installed. Midland MXT275 hardwired to the aux fuse panel. I tucked the unit as far up under the dash as I could, and the mic mount is a removable vent mount from Tackform so I can keep the interior somewhat stock looking overall when the radio is not in use.

I used a Midland 3DB Ghost antenna mounted on the hood for now, I’ll see how annoying I find it and might move it up to the roof rack. Antenna wire ran through passenger side firewall grommet.

I have a wheeling trip coming up in about a week and was able to sneak in a couple more upgrades before I head out.

Firstly, I added some sound deadening to the core shifter and center counsel area. The extra noise from cruising in 5th/6th was something I’ve been planning on taking care for a while. This was a must before heading out on a long trip again.
    upload_2023-9-21_14-6-24.jpg
I just wrapped some Dynamat to the shifter itself and then blanketed it with some sound deadening foam. Seems to have make a little improvement so far.

Weboost kit set up for the trip as well:
    upload_2023-9-21_14-7-52.jpg
    upload_2023-9-21_14-8-17.jpg
The antenna folds well enough to fit inside the roof rack when not in use, and the mounting points are low profile enough for my liking:
    upload_2023-9-21_14-9-44.jpg
    upload_2023-9-21_14-10-8.jpg

I do have the hardwire kit, and will integrate that with a switch in the cab in the future. For now I’m temporarily using the 12v outlet plug to see if there are any other tweaks needed to the set up before I make things more permanent.
