What shocks to get.... not 5100's...

Okay, so I was out in ocotillo this weekend, and now i'm itching for some slightly better shocks so that i can go a little bit faster out there in the desert. I don't really want any lift out of my shocks, but I'd take a slight lift if it was part of the shock.

So i really just want something that will ride a little bit better in the dirt but really won't make my street driving more "mooshy"

I'm looking at FOX, and I'm not sure if I actually need something with an independent resivoir, how do you think these would do?

right now i'm going about 40/50 in the washes with my stock bilsteins... they probably won't last too long doing that... will they?

I air down to about 20 psi on the dunflops... i'm just using them till their beat up enough to justify buying new tires

 

No shocks in the rear give lift.

Fox, king, icon, and a few others I can't think of will all suit you well. 2.0 for sure. 2.5 if you don't mind spending a little more.

 

Correct me if i'm confused.. but could i not put those fox 2.0's on the front?

 

Your better off going to a vender website that sells bolt on rear shocks for your truck. I'm trying to think. All pro. Maybe downsouth motorsports. Offroad warehouse. They all have websites.

 

i was looking to first put on front shocks and then rear shocks down the road...

 

OME, Good shocks and no lift if you use stock springs.
Much larger and higher quality than stockers.

 

Am I trippin? Thought your post said rear shocks. In my opinion if your going to be doing a lot of that driving when you offroad, get a coilover with a reservoir. It helps keep them cool and last longer.

so the revisions are really worth it? Do you know what the price difference is on the fox 2.0's vs the 2.5's ( with revisions )

Not sure. Hope on those websites I said. Should have prices. Not more than $400 a set max. I may be off.

Are these really only 190 each? Or am i missing something?

what distance travel is good for what i'm doing? just light pre-running...

i'd probably have dealer install them though to keep warranty, the deal says they charge about 500 for instillation up front, so that's where my main cost is...
