What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I used soapy water on the edge against the sill to get it lined up. The rest was dry and I smoothed it out. Took about 15 minutes for all 4. The first one I did was rear passenger and I do have two small air bubbles, unfortunately. The rest are perfect. Hopefully, those bubbles will work out.

Edit: Some people will remove the sill cover and weatherstripping to ensure a flush fit but I didn’t do all that.

 

I sent a pic of the truck with new wheels and tires to my father who is in his 80's. He said he doesn't like the look "It looks like a Jalopy, they should be chrome". Just goes to show generational preferences and to each there own.

 

Not as old as your pop, but I know where he’s coming from. Back in the day if you could afford chrome wheels, you were cool. If you could afford Crager SS or Keystone Klassics you were really bitchin. If you couldn’t afford wheels the next best thing was to take off the hubcaps. The result? Black wheels. That’s what a lot of older folks think when they see black wheels on any vehicle. “Poor guy, can’t afford a decent set of wheels.”

I hear you about the Cragars. Chrome 'reverse' was another popular low cost option when I was in high school. But only worked with a more vintage car. Like a hopped up 50s or early 60s.

You can get them cheaper on Ebay then on Amazon surprisingly.

 

That lip in their picture is due to the aftermarket tailgate cap, if you installed it using the oem tailgate cap it's flush

My feet of stupidity, or genius. 600sqft of LVP and underlayment served me well on the transport with my AAL from ICOn smooth sailing. I wouldn't recommend doing this daily however ha!

How do you like the cab guard? I have the same setup and have been on the fence about getting one. Any issues?

 

Hardly took any pics but I did the complete kicker speaker upgrade. Installed sound deadening material on the doors while I was at it. Night and day difference. My stereo actually sounds pretty decent now.

 

Got a new-to-me rack for my camper shell. Still on the lookout for a RTT.

 

Added a OEM Toyota Black Chrome tip just for fun. I was really surprised it actually changed the tone and sounds good at idle and even noticed a difference cruising. Looks pretty good to I think. I like it so much if it starts to move around at all I’m going to have it spot welded on.
The big new change though is I canceled my leveling kit and decided to go with a 3 inch lift with tubular control arms and some 33” Mickey Thompson Baja AT’s including the spare. Pretty excited for this mod
I know if I would have just did a leveler I’d always be craving the next move a lift.
