It is possible to obtain bottles at MSRP if you are lucky enough to be in a state that has allotment lotteries.
Washington state does not have a lottery, but Oregon and Idaho do. Pappy surfaces periodically. The lottery requires you to be a resident. Sigh.

If you want to have some "fun"... look up OLCC and Pappy in a web search.
(Oregon OLCC commissioners, the ones that administer those lottery sales, were funnelling bottles to themselves and others)

Washington liquor board has pretty tight control over what gets sold and where. I think if someone would investigate what happens to the good stuff they would find similar practices going on. ;)

We have had Pappy lotteries in my area but you have a better chance of being hit by lightning than buying a Pappy at retail. Unless you’re connected, of course.

So good!! Why pay $60 for Blanton's (IF you can find it for SRP), when you can get this for $50?!

Howdy y'all, longtime lurker here. This Clyde May's is my current favorite. I am up to 77 various open and unopened bottles, mostly bourbons.

I don’t think I’ve seen a 4R barrel strength in the 120 plus proof range before

Well, point being i think it's one of the better looking bottles even at the price it's *supposed* to go for

Honestly the 12 is the only Pappy with a label I don’t much like. It’s pretty boring, especially compared to what you have to admit is pretty awesomely unique labeling on the others. In fact, given the comparison, the design of the 12 label is kind of odd.

Trying a new one tonight. It's young, and it shows it by being hotter than 100 proof should be. But the flavor is there and they made it themselves. No regrets on the buy, but won't replace when it's gone.

Was at a new local cigar bar for lunch today. They had the full array of Weller's. Thought about getting them to pour a poor man's Pappy. But 107 and 12 year was $30 per shot. No thanks.
