2023 Overlanding Taco almost done.

Honestly, it's kind of finished right now. Maybe an AWE exhaust, I'll probably close up the bed rack a little more for security purposes, but all the big stuff is done.

 

Thank you and yeah, I just don't see a need for any bigger. These function perfectly and do everything that I need them to do and I didn't have to cut anything. I'm old, I build for function now.

I tried going up to 33” mud tires at one point. I tried to justify it to myself but I only ran them for a week before switching back to my 265/75/16 Grabbers. They were just too heavy and affected braking and acceleration too much. I drive my truck all over North America so it was a really stupid idea to try running big MT’s haha but at least I got the bug out of my system.

 

You know, 33's look really good but you have to do so much to run them correctly that the expense does not justify the it. Chopping, regearing, tuning etc. With these 265/75/R16's and all of the weight from my overlanding set up, with the OTT Tune set at Spicey/Race I'm still getting 16-16.5mpg in town and 16.5-19mpg on the highway.

 

Yep I think that for long distance trucks that still do trails and off road, 265 is a perfect size for function. On my most recent trip from the east coast to Montana and back, I averaged 20-22mpg on the highway until I hit the mountain passes in MT.

 

Great pics. I've been trying to figure out what is the tire size I want to go with for a my '23 and you might have convinced me of the 265/75/R16. , thanks for posting.

Do you have a sunroof with that redrock roof rack? I just installed the same rack and am too nervous to open my sunroof with there only being 1-1.5” of clearance

 

nice setup! i'm redoing my 18 with a similar setup and the straight awning off the passenger side is a nice idea. how do you like it?

 

Does that bull bar interfere with TSS?
