My experience with the Gleason torsen diff is that they are much different than a “locker”

    Ahh ok good.

Yeah, we all survived - though that guy was an unprepared idiot. He came at the last second on the run unannounced - no armor, no gear. Lift, bald 33s, and the auto locker. We should have made him go back after his first flop. Instead, we soldiered on. As we got to the top of this hillside, this guy gets sideways and his backside starts heading off the cliff side.
We tried a strap. No good, he has no tow point.
We hooked up a winch to his frame. No good, he started to pendulum further off. We hooked a second winch to his side with a snatch block on a tree. It ripped up his cab a bit and birdcaged the steel winch line (brand new line, guy never even offered to pay for it). Truck pendulums more, this time gets stuck up against a log. We cut through the giant ass log with a chainsaw and rolled it away with two guys. Finally was able to pendulum him up the hill by pulling on his side while winching out on the front bumper.
We started the run at 10am and I didn’t make it home until 6am the next morning.
