No, unless your line is kinked or otherwise compromised. Just check the length of the line, make sure it looks good and do a full bleed. If you want to be careful use a new barb and olive.

I had 2.5K on my frame when I last took it apart. All bearings worked great after a fresh repack. I did clean and repack them when the bike was new, and every season since. One was a bit crunchy (main pivot, DS), but still spun well enough. They don't move that much so I just cleaned and packed it and it was good enough.
If you get free bearings though, I'd order them and replace what you need to when you take it apart.

So funny how perceptions are so different. I went from Tallac to the FR pros and immediately noticed much more grip and significantly less durability on the 5.10s. Got about 700 miles on the Tallac and was still going, at 400 miles on the FR Pros and I need to bin them already (Tenet Occult pedal). Their soles are completely cratered and create a weird hole where my pins lock in and I can't move my foot around. Uppers feel weird to me too, where the Tallac fit great.
I just ordered a pair of Fox's Union flat shoe. So far fit was excellent with a deep and locked in heel, narrow forefoot, and stiffer sole (which I really like). No idea on grip yet, but the construction seemed excellent as well.

I started noticing some decent cratering in my 5-10 free rides also. I went back and checked, also about 4-500 miles on them. Just got the Pros for the stiffer sole. I really wanted to try the Fox Unions but the price tag kept me away. I stumbled on the FR Pros on clearance so may have to try the Fox shoes next year.

That's good to hear about the Fox's. I'm rocking the FR pros too and just feel like the stiffness isn't there, especially for park days. For easier XC they are fine.

I will say I don't notice any grip issues with the FR pros though. I use the plastic one ups and actually took out the center pins because I felt like they had too much grip where I couldn't even get the right foot position.

Seems like just about every review I've read still crowns 5.10 stealth king for grip. The Hellion Elits is tempting. There are some FR Pros on discount too though. Interesting on size because one review (I think it was for the Hellion Elite) said they ran long and to consider sizing down.

@abacall is right. Everyone’s perception is different. I’ve been wearing my Pro’s on every ride for the last 500+ miles. I think they’re crazy stiff and @113tac doesn’t think they’re stiff enough. Mine have been super durable and Phil’s have not been. I love my Pro’s and am not looking to replace them. I just bought the RC’s because it’s a killer deal. Worst case, I wear them to just kick around in.

Looking to try something stiffer soon, was leaning towards the Fox's.

I'm also used to carbon soled XC shoes so that could be part of my issue haha

Yep good points. At least for grip I'd think reviewers back to back testing new shoes on the same pedals would get a pretty fair comparison. Thanks for your input!

I have the old FR Contact so any of the new shoes will probably have better grip than them.

I’m hoping to get out on Sunday morning since we’re supposed to be in the 90’s and not the 110+. I’ll wear the RC’s just to compare them to the Pro’s. My Pro’s are old and filthy, but the pedals are the same (Deity T-Macs). If I get that done, I’ll provide more feedback.

5.10 Impact pros for park days. Stiff, really well padded, protected, and so much grip.
I don’t get that many park days anymore, the parks in Utah can’t compare to Colorado. Seems like jump lines are built like shit, tech gets sanitized or trenched, and flow lines have weird berms. There’s the exception here and there, but not one park that is consistent.
I miss Trestle and Angel Fire. I know there’s better, but those were close enough for a weekend romp in the summer for me.

After week in the park I'm spent. The Nuke held it together though some silliness. My buddy had a good first visit, I took him into the deep and he held his own. I'll post a few clips shortly. :spy:

PSA: If you've been looking to get the 5DEV cranks, WWC has them 15% off, with an additional 20% at checkout. 165 size included, black, silver, and orange.
Was really tempted, but I'm getting along just fine with my Eagle carbon cranks. But that bling....:D

I keep going back and forth and can't decide, should I do TWE, Mag7, and Sedona on my new Epic Evo (120/110)?

I still have my Pivot Switchblade (160/142) but am working hard to sell it since the EE is covering all my local riding.
