This was about three years ago. A true barn find. This guy knew of an older gentleman that had three old Chargers in a barn out in the country. After several years of pestering him he finally gave in and sold all three. This guy bought two. This 1970 383 column shifted auto which was the nicest of the bunch. All he did was clean it up, buff the paint and add the R/T stripe and wheels. He also bought a trashed 1968. Not sure what motor that one had but his plans were to restore it. Not sure how it all worked out. All I know is this one is a survivor with nice original paint and interior.

 

These are very popular and hard to find too.

 

I was working at an O'Reilly's in the late eighties and a guy came in and asked if anyone wanted to buy an old Chevy. No one did but I took his information. Later that day a guy that liked to do business with me showed up and I gave him the contact info. About a week later the guy pulls up in a red pristine '68 RS Camaro with a white vinyl top. I met him at the door and asked. "What, you already got it painted?"

And he told me that it was just as he'd bought it. The only things not original were the Cragars and headers.

Kicked myself over that one for a long time...

Love old fire trucks

 

Don’t feel too bad; I walked on a driving white with blue stripes ‘65 Mustang GT350 for $2k. Talk about stupid…

 

This sure looks like my uncles old fire tuck. He owned the Canal Side Pub in Brockport New York. In the early ‘80’s I moved there to work for him and we built a glassed in patio to display the fire truck outside the entrance to the bar. I see this one has New York plates, could it be?

Do you know the history of this truck?

 

Don’t feel to bad. I had a chance to by a black on black convertible’69 Vette 427 / 4-speed for $5,500 in 1986. I knew what it was but my boss wasn’t a car guy. He ended up with it from a guy who owed him money for some construction work. I was a young guy and couldn’t pull the money together and he wouldn’t hold it for me because he needed the money. He sold it for $6K. an hour into advertising it.

Crazy, my uncle is 99 years old now. I should call my cousin [his son] that I lost contact with some 30 years ago.

 

Not gonna lie… I cried like a baby for you. This is what keeps me going. I’m an idiot.
