Really was a bad decision to do anything different than how he played the first round. It's obvious but you don't put your chin out like that.
Buuuut...if you're going to lose this was THE perfect time and opponent to lose to. The rematch $$$....probably in March if Sugar fights chito in Dec.

 

Aus was offered and signed a 6 fight contract

I'm an Old School Boxing fan. My Dad was a Ring Manager here in San Diego for 20+ years. I started going with him to the fights when I was 8 years old. He'd stick me up top of the old Coliseum that used to be Downtown San Diego and say, "If a fight (In the cheap seats) breaks out, just stay there and I'll come get you. Got to see Ken Norton when he still was in the Marines, saw George Foreman put on an exhibition bout where he fought 3 different guys, 2 rounds each. Took my now wife to the fights on our second date. Myself and my brothers worked the fight between Ken Norton and Mohammed Ali when Norton broke Ali's jaw. Carried spit buckets for 2 weekends straight, both Saturdays and Sundays for the Golden Gloves Championships that were here in San Diego at the "Sports Aroma".
One of my jobs when I got older at the old Coliseum was to jump into the ring as soon as the fight was over to collect the gloves before the Fighters or their Managers could steal the gloves. In the old days the crowd would throw money onto the ring if there had been a good fight. I got my share of the "tip" for the coins that scattered onto the floor.

I wish him the best, longevity, and hope some day he'll look back and be like "Damn, I fought in UFC 292...." as he's introduced at UFC 400

HELL YES!!!

I so wanted to go or at least hit a bar and watch, but had a ticket to see Ghost that night my friend bought for me so I couldn't back out. I forced myself to not look for results and watched his fight around 2AM when I got home.

Great fight both ways, the triangle was just a crazy thing the way angles went but even at that he damn near broke out.

So hyped that he got signed. I really was thinking after I watched "no matter the personal involvement they both should get a contract"

 

Congrats to you and your son. It shows to never give up on your dreams. Through adversity great things can happen!
