No, I have them installed as they came in the box.

Fundamentally, the shocks work the same, they are both Digressive valving. The difference is the size of the piston and volume of fluid. The Bilstien 6112 is 60mm vs. 46mm for the Eibach. The other difference is the Stage 2 Eibach are coil over with threaded adjustments while the 6112 is adjusted with clips. The Eibach can be adjusted on the truck with a special tool while the 6112 can not.

This will allow the Bilstein to have better heat dissapation and suspension control over the Eibach. Both are good quality but the 6112 is an an upgrade over the Eibach for these reasons.

Installed Stage 2 Kit yesterday with headstrong AAL. Only got 1.5" on drivers side and 1.75" on passenger. (stock front end, no added weight) I cranked the coilvers up to where I got exactly 2.5" on both sides. Got just under 2" in the rear with the headstrong AAL and eibach shocks. Ride quality is great, definitely firmer than the stock offroad suspension, but my wife said she couldn't notice a difference. None of the "clunking" yet, although I'm only 15 miles in and go for an alignment today.

I was worried about cranking the coilovers up with my stock UCAs, but at full droop I still have about 3/8" of space between the UCA and spring. I followed Eibach's video on adjusting the coilovers and that made it a piece of cake. I spend 99% of my time on pavement and only hit the occasional FSR so I don't have any concerns moving forward. I am sure some would tell me to bring the coilovers down some, but I did not exceed the maximum allowable preload that came in Eibach's instructions.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve still been considering them. I definitely don’t want a clunk. I was recently turned on to the Dobinson ims setup and that seems like a highly regarded suspension.

I installed this kit today w/ Icon RXT leaf springs, option 1 (lowest) on a 2022 DCLB w/ aluminum camper, full skids, steel bumper. I had a 1" sag all around before. I got a 1" lift from stock in rear, adjusted to 1" lift from stock in front. It rides awesome on road and off, dramatic improvement. Off road is chunky forest service roads, plenty of washboard and potholes. I did not install new UCAs or diff drop or front diff bushing. No vibrations or clunking. Feel free to ask any questions.

To me, it just felt like the Eibachs were a little more natural in their damping. It’s so hard to describe suspension feel, I’m trying to avoid words like stiff, firm, soft etc.
The Bilsteins felt good too but maybe just a little more present on the smaller stuff. Again, so hard for me to describe.

I’m not sure what valving eibach is using, but bilstein uses digressive which makes it firm on slow speed bumps although at speed it soaks them up better. Digressive is better for on road driving and stability but sacrifices some comfort

It sounds like many people install these at the height they are set right out of the box. I did the same on my truck. I’d like to go up a bit but want to know how/where to measure to see exactly how much of a lift I have. What’s the best way to do that? Center of hub to bottom of the fender arch? Count the threads on the coils? Another way?

That's how I did it, center of hub to bottom of fender flare. Didn't use a bubble level to ensure perfect vertical but I suppose you could if you are OCD.

My 2cents. I recently had Bilstein 5100's with Eibach coils installed. This gave me perfect leveling for new 275 70r17 ATs. Great ride on our thrashed streets, and works great off road.. no rubbing at all.

I don’t believe they differ but 21” is definitely the stock measurement for a TRDOR.

Eibach has a good video on how to adjust the coilovers. In the video they use a Lexus GX as an example but its the same for a Taco, the only difference is motion ratio. I believe the Taco's motion ratio is 2:1, meaning 1" of visible threads below the perch = 2" of lift over stock.

I installed my Eibach stage 2 kit about 2 weeks ago and only got 1.5" of lift on drivers side and 1-5/8" on passenger.
Adjusted driver side to 1-3/8" of visible threads below perch = about 2.8" of lift
Adjusted passenger side to about 1.25" of visible threads below perch = about 2.5" of lift (different from driver side to account for taco lean)

This gave me right at 23.5" from center of hub to fender (2.5" lift over stock)

Received my Stage 2 kit, waiting for this weekend to put it in, along with a Deaver AAL. I imagine I’ll have to adjust the front end to about 2” or 2.5” of lift to compensate for the rear, and level things out.

That's what I did, except with Headstrong AAL. Here's my before & after from roughly the same angle for comparison.

The front end as shipped will get you about 2" of front lift right out of the box. So just take that into account when making adjustments!

I've had these on my truck for a bit now. No issues at all.
Only set to about an 1" over stock at the moment.
Fronts only until I decide what I'm doing with the rest of the truck.
