So I have a summer home in Nova Scotia. Last summer I drove my Taco up but ended up flying back to Florida for a birthday. Before I left I removed the battery and wrapped the under hood wiring with dryer sheets to keep the mice away. I then spent 13 months worrying about my baby. Did mice ignore the dryer sheets and eat my wires? Did the freezing winter kill my battery? Well I got back to my truck August 7th. I immediately popped the hood and removed the dryer sheets, inspected the wires and found no damage. Then I tested the battery and found it to have 12.5 volts. After I installed the battery I decided to hook the charger to it anyway for a bit more juice and to my surprise there were four snakes living under the engine cover. I freakin hate snakes! It took a while to evict them but once I did, my Taco fired right up. God these are great trucks.

It begs the question. Was it the dryer sheets that took care of the mice or was it the snakes. lol

Spray it down with Superzilla and wait 30 min, then hose it off. It will look like new.

Can’t beat that Toyota reliability. I parked my truck for 12 months while I was working abroad. Came home and it fired right up!

I thought the same thing. I’m guessing the snakes.

Note to self, to protect wiring from mice, add snake to engine.
