You haven't had Will's culinary delight yet...it's not what you think, and is something we all look forward to on these long trips!

^^ Back when there was only one wedge camper in our group! And only one set of relocated rear shocks. How times have changed.

I've been so preoccupied with prepping for my own travels that I forget this is right around the corner.

    Excited.

Hey guys! So I have to ask for my days off requests for Jan-March 2024 soon. Did we have any thoughts on which month for the spring trip? If April I can request a lot later. If Feb-March I’ll have to request before Sep 1st.

I understand if it’s too early to make any decisions but thought I’d ask to increase my odds of attending :)

I won't be planning any trips after this one, so someone else will have to chime in.

I will be in Death Valley and Baja California during those months. You all can head down and join us there!

Might be down for Death Valley… I may want to try out the southern half of the CA-BDR though. So if the group doesn’t make any plans I may try and organize that. But I also know there’s little desire for a BDR haha.

There can be a desire for a BDR, but it can't be distance or mileage controlled. We like taking in the sights nowadays.

Sorry boys I'm out. My son wants to do Ouray, Silverton, and Teluride instead. As my Smittybilt RTT cover has pretty much disintegrated, I booked a cheap cabin on the outskirts of Ouray for 4 nights. I'll still get 5 nights of solitude, well as much as you can get with an 18 year old around.

I went in 1993 and 94 in my 92 F150. It's a hellava place. I almost quit my job to move there. Figured I could make a living doing jeep tours, at least for a couple days anyway till I came back to my senses. o_O

If I can do the trails in that I don't think Bessie will have any issues, especially with Black Bear's 3 point turns.

Alpine Loop is fantastic, there are quite a few others out there. Oh, and after the backpack trip my daughter invited me on with the promise of a "transcendent burger" I fully recommend Ouray Brewery and the green chili burger, on the rooftop.

For everyone that wants to caravan from Flagstaff, AZ up to our Friday night campsite near Lee's Ferry, AZ we will be meeting at the following location:

    Date: September 8th, 2023
    Time: 10:00 AM
Location: 9001 US-89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004 - This is a 76 gas station on the right side of the road (if heading north on 89a). There is a dirt lot next to it that we will likely stage in, as to not be in the way.

For those who are not caravanning, these are the coordinates that we are aiming for for Friday nights camp:

    36.74753, -111.68862

These coordinates should put you just SW of the bridge that crosses the Colorado at Lee's Ferry.

We will arrive somewhere around 1-2 PM.

There are three campsites very close to one another, so I can share the exact coordinates of which one we snag, when we get there. (2) of them are a couple miles further down the road from the Lee's Ferry businesses, and are off of the same dirt road, so we will aim for one of those first.

That would be great if you can post the final locations when you get there. I'm not able to bail out of work until about 3-30 so I won't be pulling into camp until the evening prob 7:30-8:00 ish
