I know that TRD offered a 7th injector kit/piggyback for a short time, it was the only fuel modification you could buy for the supercharger that was CARB approved (that I know of), and why some people jump on them in the rare case when one pops up for sale. I've seen a couple on here over the years. Of course the URD version is much more common but not smog legal for some people.

I didn't think they were still being offered new though, that website probably just hasn't updated it. TRD stopped making them many years ago

You brought back fond memories. I've done Whitney many times. East Face and East Butruss were the fun ones. The look on others when you pop over the top is Priceless. I even stayed in the hut at the top one time. Climbing isn't for everyone. I think it's more about what you've been exposed to. Some people think going in a 747 is dangerous. :plane:

I saw a guy completely unconscious, foaming at the mouth being put into a portable pressure chamber toward the summit when I was there. Apparently he fell victim to altitude sickness the afternoon before and was there overnight. Even in August at that altitude ~14k ft it's freaking cold at night time as you know

there was a helicopter that would fly by and drop supplies for the ranger crew that was there helping get him down, I guess they couldn't hover at that altitude so they landed way down below and the rescue team had to hike the guy down in the pressure chamber. Was pretty crazy, no idea if he made it or not. I don't remember seeing any stories about a hiker's death around then so he probably survived.

For real, only functional thing I can really put to them in my mind anymore is the e-locker. But that just comes with the TRD package. Oh, they have those 'racing seats' in the '24 Tacomas coming out

    @Speedytech7

So, you tune your own vehicles. I've tuned my own as well.

I also had a pro in the business tune some of my own in the past; the last tuner was Justin with Freektune (big in the Mazdaspeed and Ford ST community). The Focus was almost 400 to the crank.

Anyway, nothing more than a sort of rant but why or how is it these 3rd Gen guys buy a canned tune on a mostly stock vehicle....then buy another canned tune for that same truck. Blew my mind how many posts state "went from OTT to KDMax" or vice versa and I'm just like wtf? People actually do that?

    /rant

Yeah Altitude sickness can be a problem. Usually affects out of shape people that ignore the warning signs and refuse to desend because they are on a schedule. Even the finest Alpinists can be affected. From Sea level to 14,000 ft in a day has the most effects. Slow progression is the best.

we took Diamox going up but I dunno if it really helped, I was told it works best when you take it days before and we just did while hiking. I do remember feeling kinda drunk toward the summit but never felt nauseous or headaches, which I was told were the signs that you needed to turn back around.

The toyota truck market is super new to OTS tunes being a thing. They don't know that it's only minor changes they could very likely do themselves with the software they're forced to buy to install the damn OTS tunes in the first place. Just taking advantage of a young and uninformed audience... I don't blame the tuners, most of their "companies" will die off anyway. People don't stay clueless forever.

    No throttle stick?
I've been seeing that. Almost a suspicious number of them. Hmmm.
Have fun! It can be very immersive but has a few glitches. Every update fixes old ones and create new ones. I had some fun flying in the hurricane over the Pacific and landing at Van Nuys yesterday was a challenge with the rain and wind in the air. I think that's some of the most fun, when you can play in real weather.

Even the fires by Zane were represented in the game, although not as well. By the evening of the 18th the game was rendering quite a bit of haze. On the 19th it had choked down the visibility to under a mile.

My biggest complaint right now is I get some large frame rate drops, into the single digits, in demse metro

Throttle will come later; really I wanted to get a feel for the VKB line-up without going full bore high-end like Virpil.

Although they've got some badass shit

    vpc-009-prime-l_01.jpg

    vpc-201-23.jpg

What I failed to mention is I also bought a Thrustmaster T-Flight stick as well, and depending on how I like it, I could either look at their throttle setups (I read good things, but they're pricey for being somewhat entry-level) or say fuck it and get a VKB throttle.

I always did enjoy flying with 'current time/weather' but holy shit you actually had fires in game? That's nuts even if it wasn't as realistic.

Gotta say I'm glad my only handicap at the moment are my peripherals, or lack thereof.

System never drops below 50-60fps with these settings -

I remember your HOTAS setup, but whatcha running PC wise?

Had tagged @eon_blue earlier about the stick cause hopefully the VKB is in

Haven't plugged the VR in awhile but think he'd get a kick out of either VR or even just using my monitor

Not the fires, but you will get the change in visibility from it and it will be localized and moved with the wind. Which to me is still impressive that it can do that in real time.

I'll have to check out your settings.

I have no clue what HOTAS is and my PC is this. I have no clue what it is but I asked some computer nerds if it would handle FS and was under the impression it would be more than enough.
    Skytech Shiva Gaming PC Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7GHz, RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6, 16GB DDR4 3200, 1TB SSD, 600W Gold PSU, AC WiFi, Windows 11 Home 64-bit

And generally it does really well. I have a lot of it set to ultra or high, it's when it's rendering buildings that it seems to bog down. Which is when you're close to the ground either trying to land or take off.

HOTAS being hands on throttle and stick, think you said you have an X52 if I recall correctly.

Hmm wonder if your GPU is bottlenecking your CPU; you ever run CPU-Z?

MSFS is more CPU demanding and your setup should be doing well to run it (even with the close-ups you're referring to) so I wonder if it's your GPU just trying to keep up.
