Was going out to mow the lawn.
Just started raining.

Grass was damp but dry enough for me to take a chance.

 

Bob and I are going to “Table” the wiring harness in the 2000GT tonight.
Basically the whole car harness is going on a table and spread out as if it’s in the car.
Then, rubber band it to the table. Remove all binding tape. Then we will begin to measure
the burned wires and systematically replace one wire at a time. Then check continuity on every wire.
Then we will re-tape it.
All because of an idiot screwing a panel through the harness and melting about 20 wires.
Trying to restore a hacked vehicle to original ain’t for the faint of heart.

 

I've gone through that process twice, both my midget, and my buddies Austin healey. Both of them were crispy because somebody hooked battery up backwards. (Positive earth)

 

I have never researched the reason for that. I just excepted it and fixed shit.

 

Morning Mike I keep hearing this from literally ALL my retired friends. Hmmm ... maybe I'll never retire ... just keep accumulating retirement checks.

 

It wouldn’t have anything to do with what side of the road you drive on, would it?

Still love the old British stuff. It’s funny growing up in Detroit, a lot of the gear heads in the neighborhood were into that stuff.

Gotta tweak and level the doors a little better when I feel like it but the cabinets are done.

 

Your garage cabinets are nicer than my kitchen cabinets...

 

And a properly coiled extension cord that doesn't have more twists in it than an Agatha Cristie novel...like all of mine
