Never been to either of those ones or lived within a mile of them, so I didn't even think about them, haha.

Jeez, probably cheaper to just buy a new engine.

I'm not sure if the issue is the cost of the repair but that someone is claiming the need for that much work without any kind of evidence it was needed.

I would have suggested Sunnyvale but just spent 6 hours there last Friday waiting for one of my “free” oil change and tire rotation after being told 3-4 hours max.

Yeah, I'm exploring the options. So far thats the highest quote I've gotten but even so it made my eyes water. I'm hoping thats the "we don't want to do it" price.

    Man, that sucks.

I was at Stanford for 5 days in 2019 for a diaphragmatic hernia repair with a 3”x7” gortex patch.
I felt I had excellent care and they really gave a shit.

I grew up near there, and in HS got a job at Stevens Creek Toyota as a lot tech (wash new cars)

On the downtime, I would hang out with the service writers and techs, and got to know fairly quickly exactly how dealerships make their $$.

Be on the lookout. STOLEN CENTURY CAMPER SHELL.

This is my "magnetic grey metallic" camper, and it belongs on a 3rd gen Tacoma. Someone in a white Ford F150 with white Nevada plates was spotted with it.

Last seen going east on 80 between Overland Trail and Hirschdale.

Please let me know if you have seen it. CHP and Sheriffs from three different counties don't care (or don't have the resources), so I'm reaching out here. I can post the license plate if permitted...

Post the plate. They are the ones I. The wrong and a chipped tailgate Ford sticks out a little bit

Well after a very long 5 months, the vw runs again! Full engine rebuild, new turbo. Injectors, pistons, clutch/flywheel and all sorts of misc stuff and I cannot believe just by using a book, youtube, and multiple phone a friends I was able to do this. And have it run. Definitely my largest automotive endeavor thus far.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Throwing this out there.

Anyone have room for a very sweet dog?

A friend of mine lives in a Community that gets all kinds of dogs dumped (rural area) but they have not had an animal control officer for quite some time now.

Josh (@Pella) has been saving strays and re-homing them on his own. This one is a little bit more tricky though, being a mostly adult GSD.

He says she is a complete sweetheart and really just needs a good home. She seems to have been through a lot... I can't believe people will allow a dog to get like this.

    IMG_1243.jpg IMG_1254.jpg IMG_1251.jpg

I'd take her in a heart beat... but I'm literally at the legal limit of 4 dogs. (Our town will only allow 4 dogs, and they will/do check)
