Saw a convertible one yesterday while on my way from Seattle to Harstine Island, via Belfair, WA.
I could smell the unburnt fuel and it was glorious.

He turned into the airport, and thought nothing of it...

Until I spied, at 60mph without camera/phone/etc as my mouf was open...

Looks like a car I raced back from an amusement park on the freeway through Salt Lake back in the day. Thirty miles of reckless driving. I was driving a '65 442 and the cars were pretty evenly matched. The drivers were too. Fun times.

Here are my two regrets:

Story #1 - It's 1973-74, the neighbor across the alley was selling his '70 Boss 302 Mustang w/35k original miles on it for $1500! It was a pale/light blue with black interior. He was replacing the Boss with a Mercury Capri as gas prices were jumping from $.25 to $.50 to $1.00 quickly. LOL, I still see him in the neighborhood today. He is in his '70's and has two Prius's now.

Story #2 - It's 1976, there was a used high performance dealer named "Richards Corvette's" here in Denver. Fun place to go and drool. They had a '70 Plymouth Superbird 440-6 pak car for sale for $6k. Orange with black interior. The car was so lightly used, it had the plastic seat belt buckle covers still on it from the factory. I only had $4k in the bank at that time. I came home and begged my father to lend me $2k with the story that these cars will go up in value over time. He told me I was crazy, end of story.

 

AARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Dude sold thisfor 13k. Under the blue paint was the original silver paint (1 of six built) with red tail stripe and red interior. 4 speed. So, people do dumb stuff all the time, I guess. Edit: and I should know.

 

I just threw up in my mouth a little at a couple of these stories.
