@Kwikvette I think I've finally settled on a one size fits all welder for my new shop that can do all the processes I need without breaking the bank. I'm excited, missus said she doesn't care what I spend my money on toolwise, so long I promise to not put everything on a credit card lol

Have you heard of this one? I've been watching alot of reviews and yt videos based around its AL pulse mig and I'm impressed

    https://usaweld.com/collections/htp-america-pro-pulse-200/products/sale-pro-pulse-220-mts-sale

I'm thinking by the end of next year I should have everything accumulated for 100% of the basic stuff we pay to have made. Brackets and frames and stuff. Then the year after (when I prove the cost savings with actual results) I'll get the tormach cnc lathe and mill for the more advanced stuff.

Then I'll just need to figure out powdercoating:anonymous:

I have to say I've never heard of that machine, nor the brand.

Fe things stand out right off the bat, or red flags.

The standard euro connection is nice, but I would not want to be stuck using a MIG gun that does not use commonly found consumables. It seems they use Everlast tips, but even those aren't as common as Miller, Lincoln, or Tweco tips.

Second, for the price I'd expect more power. You can't even run spray arc (if you ever really needed to) and the specs don't stand out in anyway as awesome.

I see a lot of 'fancy words' thrown out there but really the only 'appealing' thing I see coming from this is being able to MIG aluminum and having pulse. I never used pulse on a lower end machine, and the little I did was on a Miller 350P ($12k) so I can't comment on how good it'll be or if you can even justify needing it.

This is where I'd go blue and say get yourself something like a Miller 252 for all the power you need, with the ability to run aluminum via push-pull.

Otherwise, save some cash and buy a cheaper blue variant and get yourself a spoolgun.

Really, I love the larger 25x series and I'm partial to Miller after having tried the Lincoln variants so it'll be up to you if you go red or blue.

I will add that it's interesting to see that they're made in the US, and the design of their cup shield/electrode/tip reminds me of Hypertherms setup on their plasma cutters.

The drive roller system on their MIG though looks cheap.

Here's my cheap ass one at less than half the cost -

    and theirs -

I can see that. But at the same time there was always a "magic box" be it an opamp or nand gate array, right? Nowadays it's microcontrollers that do tons of programmable logic for extremely low price. But I think it all stems from wanting more, wanting something that doesn't exist or you can't afford. At least, that's what drove me.
