    Hope you feel better, Ken!!!

Had my consult with the Ortho Doc - labral tears and healed partial hamstring tears on both sides plus a good dose of Osteoarthritis - another benefit of my Army years. Not bone on bone but close. PT for 4 weeks and then reassessment for possible steroid injection into the right hip. Woo Hoo!!!

    And, good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Ken: Sorry to read this. Do the PT and stay active, I know you have no problem staying active.

Good morning. Today is day 1 of tree removal. We have two huge maple trees that are dying a slow death. We are having them taken down to avoid any damage if they fall on our house or the neighbor's house. Off to the gym early so I can be home at 8am when the tree company shows up.

On a positive note, I followed up with my doctor's office and verified they sent the required information to the VA last Friday. I will check with the VA tomorrow to see if they received and processed the faxed information.

    Morning Porchie Worchies

    Well dam.
    Feet, Hips, Covid.
You all really need to stop this stuff..
    Been busy as hell..
Pulled the harness from the 2000GT and tabled it.
    IMG_7076.jpg

Now to replace burned wires and connectors.

So I did a thing this past weekend.
I haven’t “Tracked” a car since 2003. Mainly because I don’t want to wake the
racing gene in me. So Bob has been bugging me for years to get back behind the wheel.
And finally I relented and said ok.

So, wasn’t sure what we were going to ride up in.
He shows up with his Ferrari 458 Spider.

    upload_2023-8-22_6-26-48.jpg

Spent a few hours there and it took my body a bit to get use to the g force again.

So trying to put the racer gene back in its house.

Between 120 and 130 down the front straight.
After 120 I decided I better concentrate on the 90° corner at the end of the straight.

    upload_2023-8-22_6-27-58.jpg

    Bob said he was “impressed”…
I hope he doesn’t ask me to track again this year.
It brought back so much I could very easily get sucked up again..

I know some of you have seen this in another thread but, some might be interested here.

It’s quite a feeling when someone plans this and let’s you take his car, worth more than your house, and let’s you thrash it…
    Emotional for sure…

Mike it would be hard to take a pass , what a nice car. That"s stuff that makes you feel young again . Not many places around here to get that chance to do what you did. It's just circle and drags. There might be a track in Brainard, Minnesota. I bet it was hard to get the smile off your face, for awhile.

Good morning everyone. Have a great day.
Tomorrow I get to pretend to be a carpenter, my neighbor wants me to replace 2 doors in his girlfriend's houses garage. That will challenge me a bit. When I was younger a little over 2.5.hrs. I'm hoping for a little over 4.

Morning Carl. Watched the movie Cocaine Bear the other night and thought could that actually happen???? Maybe if they bait the trap with a little cocaine they will get them. LOL . In the movie it was a female with 2 cubs who seemed to enjoy the stuff as much as Mom did . Did the game commision talk to the guy that feeds them? Worst scenerio is feeding wild animals as they always seem to come back for more and they won't move on to greener feeding pastures. Hope it gets resolved.

Thanks Susan. Time will tell and a little PT should help :D.

Thanks Mark, I am now paying for the invinciblity of my youth. Thought I was a super hero but alas not so and paying for it now.
I hope you can get the hamstring issue under control. a partial tear is bad but a full tear is surgery. I can understand your pain and hope the injection in the hip and PT work out for you. We are too young to not to be active...Take care.

Thanks Tom. Active is the key and as long as I can keep busy I'll be fine. I just get tired trying to follow your schedule :D. I don't know anyone that is as active as you.:fistbump:

That little gal looks like that was fun , but I need another. That never gets old, watching kids with their first cake. She got a bigger one than a cupcake. That's what I've seen.

You can handle it, Sir. ;)
Interesting the "healed partial hamstring tears" ... I had some heal pain happening 'bout 8 yrs ago. It turns out I had some "healed achilles tendon tears" ... asked if I had injured them at some point years earlier. Not that I recalled, but suspect I did it same time as my knee stuff and that everyone focused on the knee missed the damage lower down. :notsure:

    Take care my Friend.
    RESPECT :oldglory:

Nope, I bumped into him at Walmart and he had a bunch of generic Oreo cookies that he feeds them.

Hoping for the best outcome for all who are posting "aging" symptoms, our bodies have a way of telling us that maybe we shouldn't have abused it quite as much when we were younger. :(

Okay... I'm officially green with envy. Containing the racing gene has been difficult at times. Sometimes it sneaks out in remote places where tight corners beckon. Even when I'm driving something as mundane as the Corolla.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Going to conduct an experiment with the serp belt (again). Oh, yay. Seems we won't get any weather from the Gulf - all going to be South. Yesterday, neighbor across the street filmed two hoodies ransacking her Grampas truck, and mine! Took not a thing from either of us, just left junk from the open console and glove box all over. Ignored an old gum container full of change. Figger they were looking for guns. And, the racoons are back, toppling the bird bath I fixed. Is this Monday?

Ah, geeez! :spending: If nothing else, the value of that ride should help get the genie back in the bottle! Nice!

Nope, I bumped into him at Walmart and he had a bunch of generic Oreo cookies that he feeds them.

I'll survive...just will probably need to replace the hip(s) at some point. I have no idea about the hamstring tears, either. Probably did them rappelling out of helicopters or during the many forced, full-pack, 25 mile road marches with 7th Infantry Division(Light) and just took more Motrin aka Light Fighter Candy.

Yes Sir. The tech is pretty successful for those hip replacements. My Chief had one beginning of this year.
The AF & now VA have had me on Motrin for 30+ yrs now.

    Have a good day. :)

Definitely agree with this. I have 2 now and lived with both for many years while the joint degraded. Pain got worse, limping got worse, things you can't do increased, prescription and non-prescription meds increased, until finally got over the psychological barriers to just get them done. One 14 yrs ago, the other 5 yrs ago. Both were successful, but did take some time to rehab. Both surprised me with how little pain there was, as long as you didn't do something stupid. Worse part for me (and this tells you how non-eventful it was), was I am a side sleeper and it takes a couple months before you can sleep on either side without it qualifying as "stupid".
