Been dealing with a slight vibration that i can feel at 40-50+ mph when i press into the gas to pass someone. No idea what it could be. Maybe its not a vibration, but a little shudder that only lasts a second or two.

In the last year ive done new ujoints on my Tom Woods and rebalanced tires. Already have ecgs bushing done for several years. Running out of ideas.

I will be doing new pads and rotors soon, along with new hubs, i have different ujoints to put in. And will probably do a diff fluid check/change.

Does anyone else have any ideas? It only happens when i press on the gas, so im thinking maybe a driveline issue. I can feel it in the pedal. Maybe i need to drain/fill trans

Checked front diff fluid, still full and color looks good.

Also know the driver cv outer boot is leaking. But don't think thats a vibration/shudder.

Do you feel it in the steering wheel? Could bearing going bad, warped rotor or even caliper getting stuck.

I feel it in the gas pedal and maybe a little bit in the seat. Not in the steering wheel at all

I will be doing bearings and brakes soon. Just need to decide on some brakes, and they will be ordered

In the spring I noticed the bottom of my rear diff was a little wet. It has been 6 years since I got regeared, so maybe its time. I got a quote from them for $550 to reseal it. But the wetness stopped, so i didnt pay any attention to it.

I will check the rear diff fluid levels next weekend

If you punch the gas a bit while it's shuddering and up the RPM's, does it go away?

    I think so.

But I also know its not the needle bearing, if thats what you're getting at. ECGS did that a few years ago

Nope, I'm getting at transmission. Have you ever changed your fluid? My 4Runner shudders a bit when going low rpm/high load. When I bop the throttle in shudder goes away as it picks up rpm and stops slipping. I did a drain/fill and added a tube of lube guarder instant shudder fixx and it went away 90% of the time. I need to do it again though and I'm hoping it'll go away 99% of the time at that point.

Called 2 dealerships and they both told me that the parts that I wanted were on national backorder, and it would be 2-3+ weeks to get in hand.

Checked online, and it said available, so I ordered. Maybe thats how they get you.

Anyways, 2 OEM boot kits and 2 OEM CV axle nuts are coming to me hopefully in the next couple days.

05+ part number 04428-04010 is supposed to be an inner/outer boot kit, grease, and clamps.

Well spoke too soon. Boot kits are on national back order. Ugh. Canceled the whole order

EDIT again: Called 8 semi-local dealerships, and found one kit local-ish to me.
Didnt ask the cost, but it should be between $36-$52.. Also will pick up 2 axle nuts.

So I think someone took the big ear type clamp and replaced it with the roll type. Sucks. Gotta see if I can order the clamp separately
