Thank you again! I had heard Speedway has a dump but I wasn't sure on potable water. And yes, just confirmed with KOA 2 for 1

Can we bring you anything from down the hill?

Shoot me a PM if you’re still having issues trouble finding a spot.

I don’t recommend ignoring forest service orders with your trailer

Thanks but yeah I generally follow rules and north of the closure seems to be good to go. I did see recently hear of some big 5th wheel rigs being towed because they were abusing the system.

    Cheers.

Whew, scared the crap outta me. Shults pass is closed by a gate, would be tough to even get there. The story I heard about the 5th wheelers being towed was because they were parking for extended periods beyond 2 weeks per month. Good for the forest service. Twitch is still the best for info up here!

Yeah those were long term storage being pretty flagrant

Its one thing to break the rules on a motorcycle or truck when you are just passing through.
Its another thing to store a big old trailer long term, not very smart

Back down in Goodyear with the crazies in the heat.

Enjoyed 4 nights up in the forest on fr418. So peaceful and quiet, strangely no animals to be seen, not even a squirrel or a chipmunk. Did see a lesser spotted @aroma and his pal Mac though, thanks for the tips and recommendations
A good mixture of weather which was a nice change from the day to day boring heat of Phoenix. Some sunshine, some overcast and a fairly intense thunderstorm…

Will be back up soon to explore some more.

We were parked for 90 minutes. Turns out a semi caught fire -- everything forward of the trailer was gutted.

It was 93º and once again I was happy with Toyota's AC while idling in heat.

We came down around 3pm, passed one that was just coming to a stop with smoke billowing out from the rear brakes, this was about 1 mile before another semi that was just near a turn off that was pretty crispy. Looked like the semis brakes under the front of the trailer had caught fire and was a write off.

Thankfully no slow downs for us and I was impressed with the lack of potholes on i17 compared to my last trip.

^ Look at that absolute jerk, just wrecking across the entire freeway like that, like not an inch of pavement to squeeze by on.

He should have wrecked himself into just one of the lanes, geez. Think about the people!
